I hear people here do abs like crunches, weighted crunches, double crunches and so on each day. Is that good, abs is a muscle group so shouldnt there be a rest day in betweek the exersizes?

yeah, you should take a day rest in between.
The abs are just like any other muscle, people that say you can train them everyday are doing it wrong (this is the general idea)

You (personally) cannot train them everyday.

Abs are just like any other muscle.

Which means you treat them like any other muscle. Just for utter clarification.

Now the problem lies in the fact that I already have a religion dedicated to Syn.. How do you propose we solve this predicament? /Hijacks thread completely

Most people who train their abs everyday can do so because their ab training is pathetic. Situps, crunches, leg raises... hardcore.

Make them do some janda situps, dragon flags, and ab rollouts. Guaranteed they won't be training their abs for atleast a week after that.

Ab rollouts and dragon flags, RAWR! You'll need to shoot pure adrenaline if you want to work them out the day after..

Like any other exercise, how frequent you do them depends on how hard you're pushing it, your other activities, recovery capacity, whatever. The key in figuring out what's working is progressive. If you train daily but never go up (50 crunches a day, every day) then it's not progressive.

You could do ab excercises in a GTG fashion everyday but that would be pretty pointless and I doubt that there is anyone doing it.
