I mostly do dips to failure with BW. Currently I do 50 in sets of 10. But lately I've been hitting a wall and my progress has stalled. My max rep is around 25-30.

My goal is strength. I've been lifting for a couple of months on a true strength routine and I've seen good progress in all areas. Should I continue doing BW in my dips and try to break through the plateu or should I step down in reps and add weight?

Until now I've been getting the technique down and I feel very confident in my dips.
I've looked for articles but found horseshit.

do a cycle of weighted dips, then if you want, go back and do bodyweight dips, and you should be able to break through your pleateu easily

edit: and by a cycle I mean a 6-8 week period

If your aim is strength, then your reps are far too high. I wouldn't do anything over 10 reps for strength, and that's still considered high.

If you want to do more than 20 dips, then you are training endurance.

For strength, add weight immediately.

If you want to maximize your number of bodyweight dips, I would train both them and weighted dips. However, I would take care to manage volume and recovery so that you can continue to see progression.

If your goal is strength, there's no need to be doing dips at bodyweight when you're capable of increasing resistance significantly.

WTF? 25-30? Hang on some extra weights and do like max 8 reps for strenght!

As I said I've been focusing on technique mainly, then I got confused on how to progress.

Given excellent answers...
