View Full Version : Finding a gym

When I watch peoples samplers, they all seem to have a gym, where theres plyo flooring, crash mats, maybe even a foam pit and such.

My question is.. where do I find this??

I live in Denmark, in Copenhagen. My "local gym" only had weight lifting equipment and treadmills and wouldn't let me in before I was 18 anyway. There is also another place locally where they have crash mats and airtracks and everything but you have to be on a team that rents the space to use it. No one in the information desk could tell me where I could find such teams. The only team I could find was for little kids. I tried signing up for Taido, who once a week trains "jumping", as they call it, where we learn backhandsprings and kip-ups. But it's an entire martial art, and I just need the "jumping". Plus the training and really that good.

I managed to find one other club where they have the facilities, but they only train with trampolines and airtracks and they do 90% gay dance to backstreet boys music, not jumping (only the girls do that). And it's an expensive, 1 hour train trip away. And that for 5 minutes of tricking while making sure the instructor doesn't see me is not really worth it.
I also train GoJu-Kai karate twice a week, and they have plyo floor there. But we only do boring kicks there, and everytime I try to do a little bit of tricking before training begins my instructor tells me to find somewhere else to do that.

I've asked countless people, countless "gyms", nobody has been able to help me.

All I want is a gym that I can go to whenever I want to, and train freely. Possibly with a few other people there with the same interests who could spot me would be nice.

Thats what it looks like people have in their samplers anyway. How do you train? Where do you train? And how did you find your gym if you have one?

And how come there ain't no gyms here???
If anyone DOES know a place to train near Copenhagen when the grass is too wet, then I'd be very happy to hear!

Thanks:smile:

I have the same problem over here in Finland..no gyms in the city i study so it's concrete or snow...and i hate both of them!

Now i can only wait for summer and grass on the front yard *sigh*
