I can make them look more corky
But this was an attempt of a gainer full on wet grass ;]
So like is it more of a gainer full or more of a cork? :eh:

yes, it looked like a cork to me
Corkscrew.
What I call a gainer full, is a gainer (running straight forward, flipping straight backward) with a 360 twist in them.
Okey dokey, thanks fellas.

I'll try and go over my head a lot more ^.^

Good attempt.
Still just about in the realms of the cork though.

The J-step setup dosen't produce Gainer Fulls easily. The J-step is mainly used for Corkscrews, becuase the design of it's approach makes the Corkscrew easier to manage.
If you think about it, have you ever seen anybody Gainer Double Full from J-step? I highly doubt it...
When learning Gainer Full, I suggest you do it from the Reverse setup. Otherwise it'll always look somewhat like a Cork.

jstep gainer fulls are a lot easier than reverse, you get so much more power from the jstep. As long as you stall the gainer flash long enough before spinning it will become a gainer full as opposed to a cork. The reason people cork is because they spin too early or kick over one shoulder. I agree that the jstep may force this habit of going over one shoulder if it is done ineffectively.

Guys! When gainering (taking off of one leg) the trick becoming a corkscrew or a backfull is all in how that leg that gets kicked up into the trick moves! If you draw it inwards as you kick it forward and up into the trick, like this:

you'll get something that looks like a corkscrew, like this:

but if you draw the leg more or less STRAIGHT as you kick forward, like this:
http://aeriformmat.com/images/backfull_draw.jpg
you'll get more of a backfull:

And Sessh is right, the way Jstep is set up the inside draw is a more natrual movement- making the cork easier to do out of a jstep (regardless of the power you get) 'reverse' or "slingshot" as we used to call em back in my day *shakes cain from rocking chair* produces a straight draw with less power (usually)

And there you go...another diagramatical proof that only DPT (Dan Perez de Tejada) can give you.

Exactly what I've been thinking. :good:
That's why I can cork or gfull from J-step setup haha.
Reverse doesn't give you as much speed or power.
Really now. Look at the prereqs to the cork or gfull. We have the slant gainer and the regular gainer. In one you have to swing your leg to the side and one straight up. Two totally different motions. The only reason some peoples corks look like gfulls is because they lean hecka back haha.

This information should be written into stone. Thank you for easily the best demonstration for how each are preformed differently from eachother: this question has been going on for so long, and I think you may have answered it perfectly for everyone.
