It has just hit home to me that I have now been tricking for 3 years now! It seems like a big number, I feel kinda old in a way (tricking context).
I feel like I should be much better than what I currently am too.
Anyone else relate to what I'm feeling? It must be even odder for you 5+ people and even 8+ people!

I'll be turning 20 in June and I started when I was 14-15
It kind of kills me a little inside hearing tricksters talk about how old 20 and anything over it is.

20 isn't old. 30 is going to be depressing though haha.

Matt:
everything is a pointless activity if you are being negative.
tricking is great exercise for the body and it also helps train the Corpus Callosum (part of brain) which makes it easier to multi task.
On top of that it is fun and in turn provides stress relief, this could consequently lead to a healthier, longer and happier life :good:

if you don't count the 3-5 years where i was stuck in a group of 50 odd little kids at heathrow gymnastics club who just fucked around the whole time and as a result, i learnt only a front handspring in all that time and then discovered tricking when i moved to the west midlands 1 and a half years ago then... i've been tricking for 1 and a half years.
i think i'm on the brink of a mini breakthrough in tricking... i just need to grab my crotch a bit more
Wow, I've been tricking for pretty much exactly 1˝ years ! Good time to release a sampler?

Indeed.. Dude, PM me later..
Bagel trick as a collective, so how ever long they've tricked i tricked. how long twe been twicking?
Hrmm.... I'd say just over 2 years.
I started summer 2004, and I guess we all kinda did too. I'm pretty sure we came up with "team bagel" in school though?
We're probably more around 2 and a half. Maybe 2 and 2 thirds.
...technically, though, I've been able to brandy and aerial for about 8 years :S

You two had some experience before really starting though. You'd both been semi taught to bhs in gym class. And for some obscure reason Rook could brandy since he was born.
I remember before we even knew what tricking was you two were doing front handsprings and I was like, "WTF!? How do you do that?". Then I tried and fell on my ass a lot.
I fucking hate you both.

ive been tricking since 2001...
and I suck for how long ive been tricking. I should be MUCH better.
and yes I feel very old, Im 23, Ive been out of high school for like 5 years, and I have thick facial hair lol
i get these trick peeks like 3 times a year and it keeps me hanging on to this "poi*(&#$less" hobby
Its hard to keep spending so much time in it when I dont gain in it the way I want =T
for those of you who say i suck... think about how far you've come ! you've gone from being a regular little kid, to someone with a rare skill and are capable of doing things everyone only wishes they could do...
think back to those days when you'd throw yourself around, and you'd do 1 handed cartwheels in combos :P hehe

I feel you here. For the however many years I've been tricking, I only became what I could consider a respectable trickster in the last year or so.
And there's only one reason I could even accomplish that. It's because every day I woke up and knew I had to be the best, for the glory of the fucking empire

honestly, those were the better days. not a care in the world, trying to learn a 540 or backflip. having lots of fun and not worrying about "i have to land/train this move next in order to learn this other move in order to combo it into this other....ect". the days where you would called people up to trick. not to train, but just to hang out with them and have a good time.

Haime. YOU LIE!
I've been tricking seriously since September 2005, although it has to be said that I have dabbled for 8 years. goddamn tricks. they brighten up my life. Andy has got it right. When things are hard at home, my wife is suffering post natal anxiety, my little boy is teething and routinely gets up every 30 minutes during the night, my work just sucks in a big way, the only thing I enjoy is that 2 hours at gym!!!
It gets my head back on track, releases some endorphins, improves physical fitness and makes me feel a whole lot better. Plus I'm a driven bloke, I need something to aim at, and tricking provides me with so many goals I will never need to stop!
I'm old. You are all not.

man i couldnt've have followed up at a better time... in 26 and a half years old and i've been in and out the game for about 9 years.... my body feels like a old man sometimes, but i wouldnt change a thing on tricking or not tricking. i love every minute i can spare to it... but i get injured a lot, which i'm in that same state now... (sorry gaz,we'll finish up soon) u guys are f'ing amazing and i look up to all of you !! there are some haters, but deep down i know you mean well...
I been tricking for like 4 years.... learned RO/back then just kinda did that LOTS... aha started getting serious last year, now im getting reasonable.

Well I have been tricking for only one and a half years, prehaps a little less than that but I can sympathise with the feeling that you should be better, I certainly feel like that. :(

alpha...dude, you can double side, 900hypers, 720 feilongs, dub corks....You are totally godlike in all areas of your tricking and you're saying that you should be better then you are?! I would be happy to do a dub cork when I've tricked for 3 years...
I'm aiming for a dub cork before the 2˝year marker. Before the 2 year marker (in about half a year) I'm aiming for dub-full, dub-btwist, cork, jacknife,d-leg twist.
Oooh 777threads in this part of the forum..

Haime, you're better than one would realize at first glance because you can do a shitload of moves on both sides. Corkscrew, parafuso, hyperhook, btwist swingthru, advanced aerial variations... you're better than the majority of us on BOTH sides!
That all bein' said, I've been tricking for about 3.5 years, and I am very pleased with where I'm at right now.

I'm coming up for my 2 1/2 year mark. At the moment I havn't got any advanced flips (largely due to an ankle injury from last year, so I havn't concentrated on them)...But my kicks are clean and fast. I'm going to learn some moves out of my comfort zone this year

1 year and 2 months, I feel like shit about it because I can only land a good 360c, aerial and bkick and barely a 540 haha

I just hit 1 years in december. I hope I can keep up this accelerated learning curve. I aim to be about where 540guy is in just 1 more year. He appears to have a pretty steep learning curve as well.

Go to a gym, get a spotter, and learn to backflip. You will feel like a god, believe me.

it depends on how much you trick....like how many hours a day and how many days a week. Me, ive been tricking for 2 years and 4 months once every week for 2-3 hours and during the summer like 2 times a week. how about you?
