not exactly my best attempt but they dont get that much better. The quality is shit, I'll try get a better one soon.
My main problems are:
1. I cant seem to swing my arm
2. My second leg DOESNT MOVE
3. THAT time i didnt stomp
can you pick up on anything else?
and what the hell can I do about my arm and leg?
p.s.
not a flattering shot of my face/wonky glasses

It looked alright. Just really try to jump and lift your back leg hard. don't put your hand down and you might land on your knees or your feet, (neither will hurt) and sometimes crashing is how you learn.

This move, learning it that is, is all trial and error. You don't have to learn it the way Juji does it.
Try different ways to swing the arms. For example, try to keep the arms out and stiff, and swing them in a half circle. Or, swing your arms up and try to hit yourself in the back as hard as you can.
With your leg, it's locking because you're not turning your torso all of the way forward. Your leg won't get all of the way through if you don't turn all of the way over.

Personally, i can do it easier from standing position than from running O.O
Try different setups for it (i use B-kick setup usually) and watch others do the move with different ways, then try them...about your problems...practise practise and practise! i learned this in less than 1 week
It's a really easy and fun move when you learn it, i crashed on it a few times too and my biggest problem was the fear (putted hands to the ground..)
Give it all you've got and practise..you WILL get it eventually

Oh! and it might be easiest for you to do from the b-kick setup...also...jump UP when you do it!!!
what the hell is the b-kick setup!?
yeah yeah jump up not forward... dont need to jump forward if your running anyway :P

don't rush the jump. get low, try to "lick" the ground while swinging the back leg up, only then jump!
haha.. i put my hand down to avoid licking the ground.. but i get what you mean

You just have to force your hands not to touch the ground
I had the same problem 2 weeks ago

what the hell is the b-kick setup!?
It stands for Butterfly kick setup. It's the spinning thing in a b-kick before you actually lift your first leg. Below is a good video of Kelly Magovern doing aerials with b-kick setup. Just watch the whole vid it's great :good:

I'm not going to watch the video. But I will tell you the phrase that got me the move.
"Throw your back leg over and INTO THE GROUND!!!"
It's all very well and good lifting your back leg hard, but you need to throw it all the way over and stick it into the earth beneath you if you want to land it.

I do the Aerial on the same way that Kelly Magovern does in that vid. It's really much easier from that setup

I have the same problem with aerial as poster : (
Im nowhere near aerial, I keep planting that fucking hand on the grass all the time. :ogre:
do it as fast as you CAN!!!

really kick your leading leg over as fast and you can and throw your arms around and bring your shoulders up.
i landed my first missleg aerial on saturday :)
Aerials are a gay.
Corks are easier.

Karuge: I think you got it fast because you had good cartwheels and cartwheel variations. It was the same for me - my cartwheels were almost masterful long before I knew about tricking/etc, so I got the aerial in a week or so.
Five (Jack? Cripes, I'm Jack too!): Looking at the vid it seems that there's only one thing for you to do: RIP THAT ARM UP BEHIND YOU!
Basically, find a technique for the arms which you're comfortable with, and concentrate on forcing your arms to perform this specific technique when you aerial. Theoretically (arms weren't my problem) this will stop you from putting that hand down. Good luck.
Also, it might be better if you keep the aerial distinct from the b-kick when you learn it. Personally, I'd stay away from the b-kick setup if possible. Then again, maybe learning the b-kick will help you not to put your hands down (aerial and b-kick arguably have some similarities).

If you have problems like planting your hand to the ground while doing the Aerial, just learn the butterfly kick like Papa Lazarou told, it helped me loads.
My only problem was the hands...i have always had strong legs but the hands were the problem since the cartwheel is definately in my muscle memory. I just did the b-kick over and over again, not planting my hands to the ground, do it for 2 days in a row and you pretty much won't put your hands to the ground again when trying the Aerial.
After i got my b-kicks to look good.......all that was left was to try the Aerial again....crashed on the 2 first times (didn't hurt btw) and on the 3rd time...landed it!...then i did it for like 1 hour in a row to accept into my system, now i do at least 12 Aerials everyday..just because it's alot of fun!!

I think I landed the trickster aerial on my third of fourth attempt or something, however the gymnast aerial I am still working with.

Indeed :dead:
I still have trouble with my height on my stupid butterfly....... I can never seem to get the first leg up high enough. I suggest you do the gymnastic Aerial. It looks a lot cooler and the trickster aerial looks really dumb if you pause it when your in the air.

Gymnast aerials, once you have learnt them are really easy, axe to aerial switch on the other hand really is death.

Gymnast Aerials do look better...but i think they are harder to learn....and a bit scarier too...i landed on my chest when i tried one  :dead: ...i guess i wat jumping too much forward so i didn't get much momentum...but hey, i can't do everything

Karuge: I was deliberately very hesitant to advise learning the b-kick to help aerials. I said that they arguably have some similarities, but that it's best to keep the moves distinct from each other. I.e. learning the b-kick might help (general awareness, no arms etc.) but isn't a true prerequisite by any standards.

Oh please....my b-kicks and my Aerials are 2 different things
i landed my first aerial on grass today!
Id just been practicing them off a bit of a height for a week or two and then went for it on grass and voila.
What helped me was one handed cartwheels and also I did "axe to one handed cartwheels"... sounds stupid but it really got my body used to how it should be in an aerial, eg. hips position, etc. Ive got a photo of one of them and it looks exactly like a good aerial should be done, so i suggest it or at least just one handed ones to help get used to it!
