At 5:30 in the morning there isn't much to do. Going outside is out of the question because cold air is bad for my asthma, inside people are sleeping, so my only choice is the basement. Anyone have any efficient workouts for a fatass like myself? or suggestions?

You don't HAVE to do fasted cardio. If you want to lose weight the key ingredient is still calories in < calories out.

If it is uncomfortable to do the cardio or getting in the way of daily routines I'd just skip it. You won't lose more fat by focusing on the fasted cardio. Focus on the calorie intake for the day instead.

BUT fasted cardio can be a very efficent way to lose fat if used correctly and wisely.

If you have too much fat, maybe fasted cardio is good (i dont know)

But my dogzer philosophy on this is: it's better to change your lifestyle, than change your fat. Go into 'healhy mode' =) and fat'll go away eventualy. Eat plenty of healthy food, eat a lot of it. And do a lot of non fasted cardio and weight lifting. Fat'll go away so fast you're going to miss it.

I go to school around 7:45, 5:30 gives me enough time to drink tons of water and workout for an hour or so. But after this thread I don't think I'll be waking up that early anymore =P

No, waking up that early is silly. Especially if you're at school. Spend that extra hour sleeping instead. Your body needs it.

A few weeks ago I was waking up and doing fasted cardio at 3:30 AM, then I went to the gym at 5 AM. By 5:30, I was in the secret installation.
