View Full Version : Help with my Moonkicks plz! (Vid)
Well I have lately been trying to work on my moonkicks since I ideally want to finally get my dam cork. And I'v noticed I'v always had a problem kicking my leg up on corks and moonkicks, so I am trying to fix that right now by learning Moonkick propperly.
Few things I'v noticed thus far is, I am not blocking enough so I have a bit of forwards travel, that I shall try and fix nextime I work on them.......but.
I also notice my momentum almost stops for a second as my leg gets to about head level. MY LEG LAGS! My guess is, my set up is awkward and just creating problems for me.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem up? Or on what I should change to make it come out right? Thanx in advanced guys. :good:

you have some nasty height
dont know what else to say really looks great imo
Thanx Tomek. It not terrible, its just.......it is awkward and doesnt' feel right.

Also, my goal with learning this move is cork, here is an example of what kinda happens when I try cork with it.
Bad example I guess since its dif set up....but.
The spin just doesn't come out right or flow right to let my left leg come down on landing and its more like would like want to land both same time or the hyper leg.
There is also the problem of not kickign my leg up enough and what looks to be wide enough. Which traces back to the moonkick need fixing. XD

that moonkick is high shido, good job man! i cant do those for the life of me :dead: always gotta be a gflash
Very nice! thats was a cool looking moonkick.
Anyways about the cork. You got it. There is nothing to fix really except confidence. You got nice height and good rotation you are just sticking your hands out and reaching for the ground early. Keep those hands in and land that bish.

I actually was surprised at how close you got with the cork. Good job! Nice moonkick too
with the moonkick, it might help to try approaching it from not so straight on. it seems like you're still traveling forward a little bit, which means less height. But for the most part, it's really nice. It might help if you try and pull it BACK with your arms instead of up so that you can land with your torso a little bit higher. I think that might be the reason for the 'lag' But like I said, it's really nice as is, so cheers!

The only problem with that is your underrotated the "backflip" portion. Throw your arms and leg up as hard as you can, and don't twist until AFTER you've left the ground.

Exactly.
Come on Shido, self-analysis! :juji: You haven't left the ground before you're started twisting. I guarantee if you make yourself stall a split second longer you'll get it.
Seriously, while you're jumping concentrate on "STALL STALL STALL". Or, just jump up then say the word "CHICKEN!" as fast as you can then don't twist until after you say it. You just need to time it.
Ahhhh yes. Nah nah I can def see that Skillzat, I just......arg, having trouble to force myself to do it. lol. Piss, WHY LEG WHY!, WHY WON'TYOU KICK THRU AND JUMP MORE before freaking out and twisting. lol Dam you corks, dam you to hell.
