View Full Version : when i first did a 540 kick
i first heard about tricking like a year and a half ago. i didnt get into it then but i started practicing the 540 in TKD class. i learned it really fast, but i would set up for it by running. i just ran really fast to get momentum, and i could jump and completely pull it off. running up on it made it real easy to be completely horizontal. i dont know if thats how it should be, but it impressed everyone at class. however, now i am now going to seriously get into tricking, and i cant pull a 540 without running. lol just thought i would share.
Just thought you would share? Or do you want advice...
Too bad ima give some to ya!
I had the same problem, could fo 540's from running but its not very practical when wanting to combo/make it look good at all lol.
I seriously just started all over again.. I went back to tornados from a standing setup where you swing arms, rock side to side, then take a step around your non kicking leg and then do the kick.
It took me a while to get used to it but as you have a background in tkd it shouldnt be too difficult for you.
After tornados are decent and you can feel the move is fairly flowing and feels natural, simply progress to attempting 540's.
Hope this helped.
yeah, i was just sharing lol. but i think my tornados are good, because of my TKD background like you said. i was doing tornados before i heard about tricking, i just didnt know thats what they were. basically i just need to drill my 540 until i can pull it off without running. as soon as my friend, which has a video camera, gets ungrounded, i can post a vid and get some replies.
