is this any progression???
what tips do you have that can help me improve my btwist?
also, I am drilling bkicks more than ever..Like i said in a previous thread, I do about 5 bkicks to every btwist attempt.
thanks a lot in advance
dud its nice try after you bring the leg up not to swing it down
rather w8 to the other leg to come and twist you ^^
oh yea and you your hands !!!!!
you don't use them at all to initiate the twist!!

Also, don't dip quite as much. You're coming across your body a little too much which is the reason you're landing facing back. That set-up is more for swingthroughs, so it's a good set-up to have, but when learning a b-twist you should shoot for landing a little more in a sideways stance. (If that makes sense to you.) You could also kick up with that back leg a little more and as Biyak said, USE YOUR HANDS!
It's looking better though! Keep it up.
holy god thats stalled!
Its amazing!

Let's see your b-kick.
Lift your head up! Don't look down, be proud!
And concentrate on more swingage of those arms bro.

i'll get a bkick up soon. later today hopefully.
and thanks for the advice. :]

lol y axis = axis from ground to the sky! so you rotate too much in the air and land facing backwards, you shouldn't rotate much in that way in a btwist and land sideways like when you jumped

i am going for no proper lift from the right leg, which is the problem with the first, and still a problem with the second two. If you lift your right leg with power and purpose, it will make you go horizontal anyway, you are meant to counter this with an arch and a look forwards like Skillzat says (a lot of people leave it out though). Your stall is fine. Just really kick that leg up! And preferably leave it straight too. that will turn your btwist horizontal, give you more height, and improve your form.
If you right hook across yourself, it will turn you fine.

the first one looks like a btwist, but the next two look like an illusion gyro =P =]

such an easy problem to fix!!
you aren't blocking at all.
1) When you take off your knee is way in front of your ankle, this saps all of your height. Make sure that when you set up and take off that your knee stays behind your ankle.
2) You need to kick your back leg up higher, imagine it is kicking a target or something.

that happens because only part of the twist is done while the body is horizontal. if the full rotation is done while the body is horizontal, the leg you jumped off of will snap out of the twist before the other leg.

It really helps you spin, all the really good guys use that method if you ask them. It's a way of aggressive wrapping. Use your right arm to punch across yourself and wrap the arm in, it will spin you easily enough to get round. Really you should also be elbowing with your left, but let's not do everything at once!
Good tip by Alpha too, he helped me with that and I have been b-twisting for two years now!!

kyokodo: i like the thing you do in your pic really cool
with a lil more kick it'll own man !!
Good tip for B-twist instead of using the "wushu" dip reach out more in front
swing your right arm over!
not only will you get good horizontally! It also brings you in the perfect position to throw out a nice sweepy kick
watch my Btwist to see what i mean : http://video.google.nl/videouploadfinished?docid=-575953808615570544&cid=233022fb875e9335

i think the last one is the best
discuss/critique please
You really gotta kick that leg up man and try to keep it straighter. But apart from that NICE man. Better than mine.

throw your leg more behind like i said

Mar-12-07, 08:07 AM
the last one is defo the best, I agree. However, watch all the gifs, and look for the split between the two legs when you jump...
.
.
.
There is none. You really need to split that leg, throw it as hard as you can. Let it lift you off the floor. Your spin is fine now, do not worry about it, it's your form that needs a little work.
Hey, you are landing the btwist just fine! It just needs tweaking!
brandonn
Mar-12-07, 11:54 AM
thanks so muchhhhh
by "you need to split that leg" you mean when I take off my legs should be farther apart? or you mean i need to concentrate on lifting my back leg farther?
Kyukodo Gaz
Mar-12-07, 04:16 PM
your lifting leg should lift really high and pull you off the floor, obviously this will split the legs apart as you can't lift both!Basically as there is no right leg lift, there is no split = bad form. It's almost a two leg take off, but you lifting leg lifts a fraction earlier than the jumping leg. There should be quite a gap.
you will get it, just think lift lift lift when that first leg goes up.
