I went out onto some soft grass fields yestarday to start trying to do the aerial. Basically, I endlessly tried to do it with each attempt landing flat on my knee. There was only the slight mild pain each time when my knee hit the floor but nothing really major and I hit it on the ground several dozen times. There was not enough pain to make me stop and there was plenty of adrenaline in my blood to keep me going.
It was only afterwards after sitting down for about an hour when I rubbed my knee a bit and felt that it was quite painfully aching in a bruised way. It's still slightly sore now but I don't plan on trying an aerial again immediately.
I think i'm going to try again in a weeks time but my question is:
If I continue another week or so like this, will there be any real damage to my knee? or should I keep going so that I get the aerial and won't have to land on my knee so much?
Obviously until then I will study the move and find out how i can improve it.
