View Full Version : Reim: Fade to Black
Fade to Black (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-BFRg8hmSU) is a short Biography/Documentary-esque video I made a few days ago. It shows some progression between my first bits of footage and pictures, until now. I talk about how I got into tricking, why I kept tricking, and why I love tricking. Hopefully someone will get something out of this video, because it is really poorly put toghether, and Im a really poor speaker.
Pass this around, share it. Respond to it on YouTube. I want to get this out there, before I do anything else.

Reim, you are truly inspiring. :)
Reim, you are truly inspiring. :)
No I'm not. I just vocalise feelings that I believe alot of us have in common. So in turn, YOU are inspiring.
Your speech reminds me of characters in final fantasy when they talk about all what they left behind and all the good memories their journey brought on them, just a few moments before you go and KICK THE LAST BOSS' ASS!!!
haha!
THanks for the s'sport guys. Please pass this video around. And keep the thread alive.

Reim, fucking great. These are the glory days of your life. You're doing something, with so much passion, and so much true fulfillment, that you're living a life that many just dream about.

Very nice.
I probably wouldn't have video taped myself talking. It would have been cool just as a narration. In any case, it really reminds me of my own thoughts on tricking. It really feels like I am part of something special .

Hopefully I can keep this dream going as long as I can. I hope that I can share the dream, too.

This was actually pretty deep and touching! Good job Reim. And I can definitely relate to how you feel: tricking has made my life so much better and more fun. Tricking has it's ups and downs like everything else, but when you're 'up' there is not much that can top that feeling

That is a in inspiring vid. You make it sound sometimes like tricking got you through the 'dark' times if you know what I mean. It sounds lie it means a lot to you. It means a lot to me too. Props for giving it so much respect.
Nice vid.

I know how you feel bro, sometimes you just cannot fully express how you feel about something. I truly feel you man...

Tricking has it's ups and downs like everything else, but when you're 'up' there is not much that can top that feeling :smile:Yea for sure. Tricking definately has it's ups and downs. I get so depressed during the downs, as if tricking is the only thing I can use as an escape, and when Im down, I feel trapped like I cant even use tricking to dig myself out. But then, like Ive said in other threads, you just go, relax and have fun. That's what it's really about. <3

if u dont understand or cant relate to this with tricking then your not a reaaaall tricker! and are missing out on everything lolThats really touching. When I had wrote this, I was tearing up, myself. That's why I had to wait like a week from when I wrote it, to when I recorded it, or else I would have cried on cam.

Nice vid.It really has. With so much. Like, as I said, my first trip out to Toronto really did change my life. I know alot of people say things like that, but if you honestly took a look at how I was 3 months before I left, and 3 months after I came back. I was a new person.
Nice speach directly from the heart. VERY inspiring. Excelent job:)<3 I jsut want to give back to what has given me so much.

Reim, I wanna meet you some day. Really. As badly as I'd want to be homies with the top10 tricksters in the world.=P Im nothing special. Im jsut like every other trickster out there. If you really want to see this mentallity though.. go travel around your country meeting locals, and especially new tricksters. Doing that excites me just as much, if not more, than meeting the amazing tricksters.
I know how you feel bro, sometimes you just cannot fully express how you feel about something. I truly feel you man...
I am so happy that people understand where I was coming from with this. I expected the worst.

the vid has an artistic 'dark' or 'bitersweet' mood. it's really interesting especially in relation to tricks. it's like "whoa, never felt that one before" from the emotion of video as a whole.
it makes me want to get out and meet more tricksters in person like you have. i feel sad when i see what it's like when someone else is having really good trickster-trickster friends time and i'm not experiencing that and i may miss out because one day it will be too late.
i'm thankful for this video for showing me that.

Do something about that. Go and meet people. Hang out with some.
I've come to believe that in general, tricksters are pretty cool people. Especially to other tricksters. Yes go do something about it Redfire.
And Reim, thanks for saying what so many of us are thinking.

Oh Reim haha, you don't need to give me a download link for this one. I'll know where to find it easy enough. Trust me, I'll let you know if I really want one for particular vids.
Nice job again.

Since early 2004, I do believe.
My biggest problem when speaking is that I want to say so much and I just cant slow myself down and articulate it out of my mouth. So basically a phrase like:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog.
will come out like
De quik bruh-fox jump'd 'ver the dog.
But once I slow myself down I can get it out. I slurr and mumble alot, too.
Forget Everything (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDkwPAKYzcg) is basically part II of this piece of video. Watch one then the other.

rei man, that was great. I don't think words will describe how awesome that was. Not only did you show your stuff, but you showed friends as well. That's the reason why I trick. Not for myself or to be famous, but to know you guys. The people you trick with have a HUGE impact on your life, and you really captured it. I can't wait to trick/hang out with not just you but everyone else again. You've really, really inspired me reim, since the day I became dedicated it was you and liam who truly made me want to trick.

I agree with just about everything you said in the video. I remember landing my first trick after months of just practicing. I definitely was hooked. The only real friends I hang out with are the ones I trick with. Tricking is my identity now; don't know where I would be without it... it's almost scary to imagine where I would be without it. Yea.. I can definitely relate to pretty much everything there.

Yea man, that's what trickings all about, you really make me want to be back at the gym right now. I wish my knees were healed cause i've been out since my first few weeks of backflips:(,about 3 months now... I was soo happy I could finally backflip that I did wayy too many of them and I destroyed my knees. You can imagine how terrible I feel.
btw does anyone know of a video very similar to this one done by someone from Australia, possibly from Brisbane? I really want to see that video again, because it was almost as inspiring.
