View Full Version : Sore for 3 days....
On wednesday I had a grass tricking session trying to get aerials down and attempting some 540s, and standard tornado kicks. I've been aching every day since then. It's mainly in the tops of my legs, like.. not quite my ass but that height just on the outsides of my legs. Also the back of my hamstrings still hurt.
Anyone got any explanations of why it STILL hurts? Any tips on what to do? How long should I wait before trying again?

Your body was not used to the stress.
What anfeyd said. I've had some nice soreness after finally correcting my deadlifting form and technique so my hamstrings are killing me.
You could try a Contrast shower (http://www.vsnaturopathy.com/Shower.html) for relief. It's been talked about before, rock_ten promotes it if I'm not mistaken and it hasn't really been proven uneffective yet.

Haha yes muscle soreness will usually last that long.
For me, be it tricking or lifting, the day after my workout I don't experience major soreness. It's mild and mostly my muscles just feel tired. Second day I experience a peak. It's usually at it's greatest here, or close to it. Same for the third day. Sometimes even the fourth day depending on how intense it was. I've been sore for even 5 to 6 days. When you do the motion repetitively, your body will adapt, it'll grow stronger and the soreness will decrease. Anytime you put stress on your body in a new way though, the soreness will be intense.
Say you practice nothing but the same few moves every session for a few weeks. You'll notice a decrease in soreness gradually but as soon as you try a new move and work on it, you'll experience a new toll on your body because you're using your different muscles or using them in a new way, therefore...more stress and as a result, more muscle soreness.
It'll go away in time but no trickster eliminates soreness altogether. We're always training harder or trying new moves, so you just gotta live with it. Trick too frequently and you won't give your body a chance to heal, so you'll just be tricking sore all the time and suck. Taking big breaks off tricking can be quite beneficial but of course you'll notice increased soreness when you come back. It's all about balance and conditioning your body.
