I tried to use those tips from my last attempts, I think I'm a little closer.

those were really nice! personally when i do them i kick with my leg more, then when i reach the peak of my flipi whip my other leg to the kicking one, which throws both my legs to the ground.

I suppose I could kick the leg higher before jumping, and eh would this be considered j-step or straight?

you seem to be j-stepping the slightest bit. yours look really nice though, the kick in mine might just be a prefference thing. since you are doing a small j-step, i'd say try making it bigger. do you have a prefference to type?

But when I move on to gflashes I'll emphasize the J-step more.

that sounds better actually. i started with flashes, then converted them into regular ones. that did take some time. so i guess after all this, my bit of wisdom is practice makes perfect. sorry i couldnt help more. i need sleep.
kick alot more i say, and maybe try to get your run up a bit more smooth. Something about it looks a bit wierd but if u feel comfortable with it i guess its ok... just looks awkward.
So more kick, more power, etc... keep at it!

yo waddup reid, your gainer is most def. improving. i think you had the same problem as me when i was learning it. you are depending on the mats to cushion your landing, really commit. it looks like you are openin up a little and early. make sure you kick the first leg really hard as well. good luck

Thanks guys, and also it seems like I travel forwards a little too much, should I just block more?
EDIT: your right xomrattox, I need to commit, that third one I probably could have landed had I stayed tucked.

why do you run then turn, i reckon ur making it harder for usrself that way...when i was learning them i just took 2 steps facing forward then went for it....other than that, i reckon ur well capable of them, and even when ur not landing them they look awesome! you wouldnt see many 14 yr olds trying wat ur trying to do!

donno if my advice here is valid because I don't often do my gainers slanted like that.
you have to reach UP. and also i rarely take more than one or two three steps...it just confuses me and messes up my rhythm.. concentrate less on getting horizontal speed, because that's only important later i think. but for technique, concentrate more on kicking hard, and reaching UP
i hate that every advice given lately is "block more."
my specific advice is to jump hard, kick hard, and reach for HEIGHT before beginning your rotation.

yeah in retrospect that's a bad example. but it's me so that's a given .
ANYWAYS. if i did reach up properly i probably would have landed higher. hahahaha.
