Ha ha... this is hardcore... Movie about a 38 yearold discus thrower. No roids... ha ha, except in the posing one...

It's not like he's the world strongest or that he's huge, he looks pretty much like an average discus thrower in those days, except he towerd above them...

He just had this really odd and crazy personality...

I won't get into his training routines, you'll see in time... He's dying now at the age of 60 because of how he threated his body...

ha ha, I have this movie were he trains as if he wanted to become the strongest man in the world, he eats 750 pills(!) of useless vitamins each day because he can't use roids anymore... He benches until he starts coughing blood and trashes up the gym... He also goes out and poses in front of ancient viking runes and writes songs and poetry about how he actually is a norse god and all the women worships his muscles...

All his relations took an end because all he wanted to do was to stay in the house and fuck all day, during the time he took the craziest amounts of roids he got 16 ejaculations in one night and wasn't able to pee without standing on his hands in the shower, the roids gave him a 24/7 erection... When he got older he decided that roids were bad and he wanted to train clean. The movie I want to show you features his training for the Olympics in LA 1984. The swedish committe said that he was too old to compete and wouldn't give him the permisssion.

He throwed over 5 meters longer than the winner of the 1984 olympics and the movie is a great story about incredible willpower and defeating obstacles...

He's a true hero of mine... And you'd all dig him if you saw the movie... His strong as fuck...

He's considerd one of our country's greatest athletes, but everybody knows he's utterly crazy... Ha ha

He beat down his own coach ones and used to make "over-steps" by purpose when competing if he wasn't satisfied with the trow, even if they were good enough to get the gold... he didn't use roids when competing only when he was young and it was legal, he took crazy amounts so his body is all fucked up today...

He's a good friend of John Powell and there's a DVD documentary about Ricky on his homepage...

She told me that the reason that he just flips out and trashes everything is because of a genetic disease that runs in his family (like ADHD or something like that). One time they where having a party at a cabin and a fight broke loose and instead of trying to break it up, Ricky grabbed an axe and just started to chop through the house for no reason. She didn't know him very well but she said that he was nice and all except that sometimes he would just flip out and scream/fight people, resulting in a few murder-threats and having his house broken into on several occassions.

EDIT: And by looking at the pictures again, I realised that the hospital he's in is the emergency hall of UMAS (University of Malmoes "Allmänna"/Public "Sjukhus"/Hospital) and the scene with him throwing the discus is actually a park usually jam-packed with people (hope he didn't kill anyone with that throw).

I train strongman events, but have various mental issues (really LOL) such as OCD and ADD and can relate to rickys gym behaviour

We dont train in a commercial gym, but have our own unit full of strongman equipment. Rickys style would not have caused any raised eyebrows with us, he would have been most welcome to go apeshit anytime LOL

There are a few strongman websites that have talked about this thread (one being Pro strongman Jesse Marundes website) there is a lot of interest

A few of the guys who I train with would love to see this video too

This video NEEDS to be made available to so many more folks. The response to the 3 minute google clip, and the Youtube music video feat parts of the film has been great

I cant believe I had never heard of this guy untill now, its even more fucked up because the film looks amazing, who has the copyrights to the movie? they need a kick up the ass for not publicising it more

I know that you can buy this DVD on John Powells homesite. I'm really not sure who has the copyrights though. Prob the director, he's more of a "art" maker than a movie maker so I'd find it hard to belive that he has sold the rights or anything like that.

If you have mental issues(who hasn't when it comes to training?) you'll love this film, it's all about the mental part of training, it's not like you have to be a discus thrower to relate to this, anyone who's into somekind of sport can relate to Ricky.

I'll make sure to get this film seeding as soon as I get back. It's always cool to get in touch with new people who appreciates the same things...
