so here's some tricks i threw together a couple days ago
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4j4EjEuUdI
it's mostly btwist drilling and trying out some combos
anyways. today my cousin randomly called me and told me to come to his cheer gym for some practice. naturally I went because they have a half month old spring floor just aching to be broken in. Anyways, I've been working up the courage to throw a full twist for weeks now. it's just killing me, man.
Well I didn't do it today, but I did discover that I could Arabian very well, and quite high. Is a full twist an over rotated arabian? Because if it is I'd feel much more confident doing a full. I've thrown fulls before on a trampoline, but seem to have completely lost the trick. :[ Anyways, any advice would be extremely appreciated.
and please..............TALK ME INTO DOING THIS TRICK

no, an arabian starts as a backflip, but then turns into a front. a full twist is a backflip, but with a twist(lol)

damnit. i was hoping to over do the hell out of an arabian. i mean I am aware, obviously, that an arabian ends as a front flip. but i am still just not sure how to go about doing a full. gahdamnit

Doing an overrotated arabian is a viable technique... it might not look as pretty as the regular full, but you can work on that later anyways.
Also, it says the video is not available yet.

Stephen Friend does his fulls using technique similar to that of an arabian.

daaaamn really?!!? he pulls doubles out of the AIR. maybe this isn't such a bad idea....
stephen friends, btw, is one of my fav trickers
the easiest way to get over the fear of a full twist is to do halftwists until you get the feel for twisting your hips while flipping.... then just wrap your arms and commit to the spin a bit more.... i've only done fulls one day, but this is how i did it and there was no fear at all
keep in mind that when doing a halftwist dont just "switch your hips" at the last second, because it wont transition well into a fulltwist, when you do your halftwist your whole body should turn at the same time

dude u shouldnt be pushing a full yet. i kno u want encouragement to go recklessly throw something u dont grasp yet and hope u turn out alright, but for ur own best interest, not yet. get a layout, complete with all the goodies like a set, a press, and NO PIKE DOWN. the best thing u could do is perfect ur full technique on tramp so its a brainless automatic response. if cant use a tramp ever then start adding small amounts of twist to ur layout, quarters or even eights of twist at a time. the only reason a full would not be like a halftwist (im guessing u didnt mean a real arabian), is if u pressed to the front. i wish u the best of luck man, if ur focused u may not need a helluva lot of drills, but i think the chance of u learning it with bad habits that will limit ur potential, or getting injured are too high.
and thereid... could u explain to me how stephen friend's twisting is like an arabian? from what i can tell the only remarkable deviation in form is his wide arms, sorta like a helicoptor.

half twist? as in not the same as an arabian?
Arabian = Jump BACK, twist 180 (pretty vertically) and then frontfilp...
Halftwist = Jump BACK, flip back and spin 180 degrees while flipping back.
