Not flexion of a joint, but the more common term where you flex like how they do when they pose in bodybuilding competitions or whatever.
Basically, the most common thing done to show off is people flex their biceps so they pop out. Even though unseen, the tricep has to be firing just as much causing a counter-force to extend the elbow, or otherwise your arm would just flex more.
Anyway, when I flex my bicep like that I get this sharp pain in my elbow. That doesn't happen when I do pushups or when I'm curling weight or even when I do chins, so what's the deal?
Does both muscles firing at once do something bad to the joint? I don't think it should... any idea how to fix it? I mean, I thought flexing antagonists was supposed to STABILIZE a joint.
