Hey, I'm new here, and wanna learn tricking. Besides fitness(which is something at the moment that i have lost), it just looks mad.

Where should I start learning? Since there is (probably) no other trickers in Cork, Ireland, I'm gonna be on my own learning:smile:

The only thing at the moment I can do is a handspring, although I have been studying tkd for 2 years, I've moved on, for location reasons. That's why I'm not as fit as I used to be, although I was flexible, do you think i'll regain my flexibility?

Just looking for some helpful advice

Peace:smile:

ahh this is where you are wrong! Recently on this forum i saw someone say they were from cork. They were then bombarded with a witty call about learning to cork in 'cork'.... Anyway there is hope.

TKD, well start working on some kicks, c720, tornado/540, etc. Your gonna wanna choose a few things you are comfortable with and work on them. Back tuck should probably be included as it can be a great move to conquer fears and give confidence to do greater moves once mastered.

Learn up on techs, watch tuts, go out and chuck the shit and if you need help along the way post in these forums!

Good luck on your tricking adventures rooky!

Yeah Ireland rules.
Well tricking in Ireland is best done outside due to the extreme lack of gyms (gymnastics style). The ground is soft and the fields are plentiful.

You'll be hard pressed to find someone to trick with you so the best thing to do is to film yourself, see what you're doing right/wrong.

Put your vids here and people will be obliged to help you

Rate your physical level, if it's not at a point of decent shape, work on that first. Then start with some basic kicking moves and cartwheels/handstands. Visit the main page ( http://www.trickstutorials.com)to find tutorials and video's which can help you learn the somewhat harder basic moves like Aerials, 540's, backflips etc. I recommend you read through the flexibility section of this page and at least start with Dynamic stretches, 2 times a day, every day. The benefits are great and it will only take up between 5-10 minutes.

I always recommend registering at a forum but you already did! It will help because you can talk to fellow tricksters, ask questions and share experiences. Watch samplers, they help you understand tricks and give you inspiration/motivation.

Don't overtrain, just have fun, because in the end that's what it's all about!

Good luck man!

Woohoo another irish tricker!!! Just a few more years and I think we'll have enough people to get a gathering going!!!

But yeah, start with backtucks as theyre easy and people love them. Seriously I lived off my backtucks for about half a year, just doing them in front of people. Tricking is a totally new concept to people in Ireland, so they're totally amazed when you do tricks for them. Of course they'll ask you how long you've been doing gymnastics etc, but sure it's worth it!

Go neiri an t-adh leat!

I'm not great at gaeilge!! Haha, by the way, must you have experience with gymnastics etc for tricking?

So, I'm gonna be a tricker(a rareity in Ireland)

And I'm a beatboxer(another rareity in Ireland)

This is cool:smile:

No, thats the good thing. You dont need any experiance in gymnastics to do tricking.

And how fit must I be?:)

It doesnt matter TOO much, you'll just get kinda annoyed if you're having a really good session, and want to do more, but then cant cos your body is just too tired.

I think that since tricking is a kind of explosive, blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing that being able to run for miles doesnt help as much as say having really powerful legs. Just what I think...
