Ok a while back I tried a flashkick, but my biggest problem is getting the kicking action. My friend who spotted me said I just jumped 1st then extended the leg, is there any easy way around this?

any help would be great, and i know its a very poor attempt.
Thanks.

you need to kick ALOT earlier.

where abouts in the UK are you from?

Theres like a bazillion tips on flashkicks i could give, but you'd be thinking too much and overthinking = death. Just try and ARCH but now throw yourself back and kick fucking hard.

heres a gif, it probably shows it better than i can explain.

Well, in the flashkick, this is a move where you have to work your way up in the move, to an extent. It's a strange move, and its technically specific.

There are a few things you're going to want to keep in mind, however:

- Squeeze that ass. It pushes the hips outward, and helps the kick through.
- Chamber the kick. Don't lift it through, KICK it through! Bend and snap! (weak Legally Blonde type "joke")
- Open your chest. Keeping the chest closed leaves no room for the kick to come through.
- Think about kicking when your hips make it slightly past your head in your rotation (as Sessh taught me). It creates the perfect point of leverage in your center of gravity for the kick to help the rotation.
- Look for the ground, and then snap the kick out, and reach for the ground as hard as you can. A lot of this move has to do with powering through it.
- Bend that non kicking leg either back or out. Open up any paths you can for your kicking leg to come through.
- Go UP, and then BACK. You need height in order to ge the full extension of your kick, but you need an arch motion to push your hips out in order to properly initiate the kick.
- Practice! This move takes a bit of practice, sadly. :(

Just keep trucking. You're on a great start (I remember that it took me a year and a half to start doing this move RIGHT, haha) and it's all about ajusting to the motion.

Thanks, I come from Northampton.

Ok I'll try and practise it a bit more, I think my biggest fear/worry is not having enough height and simply kicking and then landing stupidly. My backflip is good, just I wana try and do other moves too.

But thanks
