when doing the btwist, are you supposed to kick the jumping leg(the leg that leaves the ground first) over like the bkick but when it starts to come up and around you do the rotation for the btwist?

I'm a little confused with what you're saying, but yes you kick up that leg just like the btwist. Once it reaches it's peak though, it's highest point in the air, it does nothing else. Don't try to twist with your lower body at all. After you're at your highest your upper body takes over completely and you use everything from the hips up to twist. Obviously the legs only come into play again for the landing.
Just remember your legs will follow your torso, no need to try and twist with them or you're fail.
Since I'm not exactly sure what you were asking I just made my best guess and went with an answer. If this isn't what you meant, then...sorry I guess?
