Haha it seems like your video from the pep rally has made pep rally's seem so perfectly suited for a running roundoff flash. Last pep rally of my high school career was today, so I did a ''DAVE C", as they should say. <3 love!

Anyone else do this?

HAHA. It's the perfect venue. Since tricking I always thought about it at every one.

I did my highest Ro Layout EVEEERRRRRR. I mean of all time. :pwing:

It was 1997....my schools (I went to a boarding school Grundy,Va) biggest bball tourny was going down. 3 teams from DC, and 2 from the surrounding areas. Anyway, the pep rally went down. The cheerleaders (some of which were my classmates and friends) knew that I did martial arts, and pulled me from the stands.
I came out with a Ro multiple Bhs pass. Walked up to the cheerleading line, and decided to do a standing backtuck (Which I had just taught myself only days before). BAD DECISION. I landed in a cheap ass frog type of stance, Hands on the floor cuz i bailed. DaMn. I had failed.....so to play it off, I turned around and decided to run away with a brandy.

Another BAD decision. Instead of the normal brandy, my body decided to tuck, and it became some sorta wierd ugly trick. Maybe I bailed or som'n. I think that move is called a Jonah. Needless to say it was'nt aesthetically pleasing to look at. It just DID'NT look COOL.

GREAT....so here I am in front of this huge crowd bungling all my moves. "Only one way out of this" I thought to myself. "I must do a Ro Bflip!"
Boy did I hold my breath....but to my amazment, I had blocked so effectively that I soared with the birds in the most comfortable layout. And there you have it my friends. I had redeemed myself. I pulled out one last move and succeded in winning over the crowd, and winning over myself-my self esteem-my tricks-my determination-my hard work-my efforts-my battle with gravity-and my style. It was great.

I then ran to the locker room to get ready to play power forward for my team. We had home turf. I tried to dunk. Bad decision. Puahahahahahaha.
In the end.......We won the tournament.

In light of all this....I feel that our winning the tournament relied not only on the skill of the players, but upon my shoulders when I ran out there onto the court to show my tricks. All the teams were present @ the rally. It was dope!!!!!

SIDENOTE: dOES ANYBODY KNOW OR HAS ANYBODY HEARD ABOUT THAT MOVE CALLED A JONAH? dAVEc? sESSh? aNYBODY?

Nah...I never heard of any acrobatic move called a "Jonah" before. The only time I tricked in front of a large mass of people was during a NBA halftime show. A friend of mine named Joshua Skillern told me to swing by the Toyota Center for a training session. I was already in the area, so thought "what tha hey?"

The practice went for about and hour and thirty minutes. Despite being tired, I was suprisingly hitting all my tricks super-high. Next thing I know, all I hear is cheering. Josh steps out of the bathroom and he's all suited up.

Me: WTF are you getting ready do?
Josh: Halftime...

Me: Oh word? What you gonna do...you got a routine?
Josh: Nope...that's why you're here.

Me: ...
Josh: ...

Me: ...you bastard!

Needless to say I end up doing the halftime show with Josh...and let me tell you: "Josh can fucking flip!" Dude was doing Rudis and Double Fronts like crazy [he loves front tumbling...he doesn't feel comfortable with going backwards]. I was pretty much keeping it at a moderate skill level [Kim Do Kicks, st Gainer combos, Dub Fulls, etc.], but Josh was going "triple platinum" so I stepped it up. Ended up doing a Dub Back at halfcourt.

I did a couple cart-fulls during a parade my dojang was in.

I was doing d-legs, 540 and aerials for all the little kids watching while we walked up the street and when we got to the square/center of town they had an announcer and a tv camera for one of the local stations filming the parade.

Right about then, one of my instructors patted me on the back and told me to "go big" so I ran out to the center and did one of the prettiest cart-full dlegs I've ever done, in shoes, on pavement... I was fucking buzzed from the rush and turned around in time to see that the camera was still on the group in front of us (Future Farmers of America or some shit).
The announcer noticed and told me to do it again over the PA so I was kinda forced to oblige...

I was tired as hell but I went for it and only managed a standard cart-full but I landed clean and stood up expecting applause, ticker tape and/or affirmation of some sort from the crowd
but they were all just kinda looking at me with a slack jawed lack of understanding.

I thought quick and remembered who my audience was and did a simple back tuck...

The crowd went wild.

Of course, when the parade footage aired, they included the clip of the backflip and left out the cartfull. >_<

depending on whether or not DC wants to crash next years pep rally is up to him but if he doesn't i've already decided that i'm going to talk to administration (because we don't have a tight ass for a principal anymore) and see if they'll let me do it, it'll be dope!

I already know you're crazy, it's not the hard surface that surprised me. But who the hell are you going onto the court in an NBA game? You just.. walked on the court and started tricking? Haha
Or i guess your friend was a part of the show? (im going to search this on youtube).

I would ask for a vid of this double front on a basketball court, but I'm pretty sure I won't get it.

I did a little flip routine during one of our pep rallies with some btwists and what not. Some kids told other kids "He thinks he looks cool but he's just prancing around"
