YES.
I couldn't tell what some of that stuff was even supposed to be because it was so limp.

Yeah. You're just throwing yourself in the air, thinking that you will magically land. You have to put effort in through THE ENTIRE TRICK, not just the takeoff. When you do a tornado kick, don't just torque your body around and stick a leg out. Look at your imaginary opponent, keep watching your target, and kick their head off. The second tornado kick looked a lot better. On your front flip, go UP and get height, then TUCK TIGHT (not all loose!). The tighter you tuck, the faster you flip, the more time you have to land, and the easier your life is.
That's my advice, as was already said you really need to put EFFORT into tricks. Imagine lifting a heavy weight. Can you just put effort when you first start curling it, then just let your arms go limp and assume everything will magically work and you'll complete the rep? Nooooooooooo.

Oh and just for the sake of posting again, it was a good attempt and the fact that you've gone over backwards and forwards, even from a height, is very good. You remind me of Reim, looks-wise.

OMG!!! i remember you from club540... that was 2 years ago... you've literally come nowhere in progress since then...

correct me if i'm wrong though

Haha yeah I was in Club540 back then pete but never in there with the intent of tricking I used to just film shit to edit videos with didn't care for tricks. But all that has changed I started getting into it for getting into it.
When I was in 540 I couldn't even backflip so I have imporved some what to that extent sometimes things happen faster for some rather then others. But I thank you for whatever small fragment of advice or postive critisizim I got from you. As for the rest of you thanks

Yo Syrup, I never said you were bad, now your just putting words in my mouth :P

I simply asked was it a seroius sampler? or is that just a few "sessions" put together so you can ask for any advice..?

Normally a sampler shows off ones progression..

How much time do you spend working out? rather then tricking? Try putting it at like 75% work out time, 25% trick time..you'll notice a fast improvement in your tricks, as you get better you can even them out..

I'm just busting your nutz Billy, Most of the footage out of that was from 2 summers ago. In all seriousness only 11 percent of the video was serious and that was a couple things off those blocks. I never did heights before and I had a pulled groin that night. I'm working on getting some new stuff done.
I'm more of a Sampler editor that happens to trick here and there but the here and there is becoming everywhere.

I enjoyed the front tuck off the fence: that was the highlight of the sampler for me.

Just JUMP more: as everyone else is saying, put more power and commitment into each trick. In your backflips off the block, you're not jumping UP high enough. Jump UP, bring your knees to your chest forcing you to rotate, and then land.

Improve your flexibility as well, both dynamic and static. I'd like to see a wider split in your au batidos.

Keep working at it though!

Yo ShiKayo I would like to see a wider split in my Au Batidos as well, I've been working on the stretching lately apprently the older you get the more integral stretching becomes.
Thanks for your tips I'll keep those in mind.

Don't fear zee ground. I can see in one of your 540 attempts (i think @ 13 seconds) you were kicking and then turning over and immediately throwing your hands down to reach the ground. I do the same thing sometimes, and its a really annoying habit to get into.
Also, it looks like you're having a hard time getting extension on whatever kick you're doing. You want to really try and get your leg up and out, straight. It will help if you work on dymnamic stretching and basic kicks.
I'm not super great at tricking, so take my advice with a grain of salt (or cocain ftw).

haha thanks meegz, It's only a half ass Sampler, Not a great kicker so I will certainly take your advice on kicks even if it's a grain of salt or jellotin powder.

HMMM, keep it up??

put more power in your attemps man... and get some flexibility

MasterSyrup
Apr-10-07, 01:39 PM
thanks there Broertjetim, it's more of an effort factor then anything I was half assing most of that video but I had fun Half assing for the camera. Flexibilty is an issue for sure. I need to stop fliping over my shoulder on the bflips though.

pratise it in a foam pit with a mat in it to get the good feeling, then get it on ground/grass whatever

It isnt so much me being afraind to go over backwards it's mainly a snowboarding habit most snowboards flip over there shoulder because of the way your body is naturally positioned. Hopefully I can break it after all the months of winter.

just keep practising, the most important thing is that you enjoy it and with that passion you will keep improving. Plus, to go for some of the stuff you did does take some courage, loved ur front of the fence :p
