the gyms that i looked at are too far and only have open gym to students. i cant take any classes so thats out of the question. all i have is grass but no mats for trying out different tricks. i live in winnipeg, canada by the way.

Just throw them on grass, but trick low to get used to crashing.

tricking on grass ftw!

i didnt go to a gym for well over a year when i started tricking.

i think my first time was at the UK gathering 05 haha. Gyms arent everything. People overrate them i guess.

It could be a bit easier for us to fall on grass. The grass in Ireland (and I assume the UK) is pretty soft. I could fall from 5 feet onto the grass in the field about 10 times before feeling hurt. Dunno if the weather/grass type is conducive to repetitive failure

Why are classes out of the question?

Trick in the park. And clases are out of the question because none of them are designed for tricking. Just use http://www.google.com and search for one in your area. Or use a local phonebook.

It doesn't really hurt to ask them too, maybe if you talk to them nicely they will allow it.

The reason why gyms are so great is the flooring. Tricks are much easier to learn, and you get the techincal shit down there so you actually can learn/land them easier on the grass.

i emailed a couple of places asking if they have open gym for non registered people and they said no. there those pussy gyms that require you to use mats and the floor after you have lessons and only if your registered. gay.
