I try to stall it but my leg stays bent. My flexibility isnt that bad so I dont know why im not doing it right

You are going about it wrong. Its more of a kick-flip...than a flip-kick.
Its the kick that will make you flip. You dont flip, then stick your leg out.
So basically you need to kick the hell out of the air with your leading leg. Get it (your foot) shoulder / chest height before you even jump off the base leg. You are just throwing your knee up, you need to lead with your foot (instead of your knee).

also: arch your back by throwing your chest to the SKY! The arching will make the kick come out a lot easier

Dont arch too early though; it'll come out low.
