I have been trying to do a B-twist and whenever I attempt it I always go straight up in the air and I find it kinda hard to raise my back leg and jump at the same time from the dip. Any tips? I'll try to get a vid up.

Sorry for the double post but I forgot to mention that I am doing this move from standing and not moving forward before the dip.

Hmmm... I will try it with the momentum steps now but learning the B-kick can wait

no it cant wait because it will be hard to learn it without a bkick

With that mindset I foresee you performing a wide variety of moves in the future, all shitty.

I don't know man but a b-twist doesn't feel like a twist to me. I got it the first session I ever started. It's not as you would expect it, to have lots of momentum. Just think of it as, jump and lifting that back leg up, and then turning really hard from looking at the ground to the sky and back down the the ground.
Most of the times, you don't even know where your legs are and it jsut ends up following through.
Once, you get the b-twist, give me feedback on how it feels please. I just want to see your opinion on it.

HAHAHA "the bkick can wait". Umm no, no it can't. That's like trying a 360 gyro when you can't kick. Bkick is the most basic move you will ever learn, so learn it, get it floaty, then come back.

Yeah, You have to have a bkick before a btwist. I always do my btwists as a bkick gyro just to make sure i get to my peak before i twist over...so basically...

LEARN BKICK!

I won't deny that bkick isn't essential to learn how to twist. Take waterboy/Kevin for example. That guy is doing 720 btwists now, very nice. Or at least was somewhat consistently last I knew. Maybe not anymore. Point is he always had a good btwist, yet he never learned a bkick.

The difference between him and a few exceptional others is that he learned how to apply the basic bkick technique right from the start learning the btwist, having never actually learned the bkick. Mostly the technique I mean is getting your whole body up high, primarily the legs and letting yourself get off the ground before you think about twisting.

Really though, it's only smart to learn the bkick first. Both because it adds another move to your arsenal and because it makes learning the btwist easier for most. Not to mention your btwist looks better as a result. Watch vids of bkick Joshua, and just imitate it the best you can. Just think of your body as a shallow U shape in the air. Your head and feet will be your highest points at the peak of the move, and your waist the lowest point, so you need to arch.

One thing I did when first trying to get the feel for kicking the legs up and around was holding onto a bar around waist to shoulder height and just jumping, swinging my legs around in the way you would for a bkick. You have a stable position where you won't be falling all the time and you get a feel for the move a little, though it's obviously quite different to actually do it without anything to hold on to, especially since you'll be gathering momentum over a length on the ground, instead of in place.

Good luck. Nah screw that, just practice hard and have fun.

Just so you know. If you start bleeding out of your mouth it's probably a good idea to stop training.
