I cannot get out the second kick at all. I know flexibility isn't an issue. Does anyone see anything in my hip alignment or anything like that which I should correct to help the kick come out higher? Or do I just drill it at this point?

I'm too busy laughing at the way you look in this clip.

But honestly, I think you need to work on your 540 a lot more first. It doesn't seem to have the height, speed, power and rotation you need to do jacknives even half decently.

I will say this though, your first kicking leg shouldn't keep going around extended. Obviously some people do jacknifes with a more whippy straight legged approach, but they're few. If you want to tackle the move better, rechamber the kicking leg after you hit your target. Don't think about snapping it though so much as hitting your target quick then retracting. The problem with this is most people get lazy and don't end up extending their leg all the way, so it just looks like a c720.

Having your torso turned more in the direction of the kick would help align you too, doing a roundhouse kick instead of a crescent. I couldn't really tell where yours was, somewhere in between I suppose. Any way if you do that you'll be in a better position to throw a hook kick, which I assume is what you're going after and not a crescent2crescent kinda jacknife.

Uh really though, work on that 540 more. A lot of people like to go after jacknives with not-so-great 540s and have a very difficult time obviously. The jacknife is no cake walk to do properly. I'm still struggling with it myself and I've had a good 540 for a long time.

whats the difference between a jacknife and a c720? is it jknife-hook/backturning and c720-cresant? they are both 720 degrees right?

They are both practically the same, but the difference being that the jacknife has an inside crescent/roundhouse with one leg before the outside crescent/hook with the finishing leg.

so the jacknife is basically a 540 kick with a cresent/hook afterwards. the c720 is the same, but doesnt have the actual 540 kick in it. do i got it?

Step 1: Put some clothes on.
Step 2: Get a hair cut.

All downhill from there.

Ahah...

Do at least a 100 540° more...Then go for jacknife. It will not look good until your 540 look good.

My 540 is MUCH better than you could probably tell from that video. I just don't extend that much on the first kick and don't get much height because a tricker had told me to concentrate less on the first kick and to try harder to just spin as fast as you can to get your hips around. I'll still drill 540s, though.

And yah, it was windy that day so my hair was everywhere. It's really not that long. And I love tricking in my boxers. Feels so free.

Well don't listen to me anyway. I'm spewing shit about 100% of the time.

Yea, I figure I'll just work on 540s and then try jacknives some just for fun. You have a nice 540 so I assume you know what you're talking about.

Besides, my tricks have gone downhill in the last month or two. I gotta get back to basics again.
