What are everyone's PR for mile times (or 1600 meters)? So far I stand at 5:29 and wish to have a sub 5 minute mile.

This was done with months of no cardio, and with about 50lbs bodyweight on top of my previous 143lbs/6ft state. I expect I could get to sub 5 minutes if I dropped some weight, but I don't intend to. Still, well under 5.30 should be possible.
I'm basically just running a mile or doing sprint intervals of various lengths. I only run 1-2 times per week since I started again, because I don't enjoy it.
Oh hey it's the monthly what's your mile time thread.

i was gonna post that 1 mile = 1609.34...... thanx for enlightening me with the millimetre value :)
My 1500 record was 7:08 when i was 12. Im sure i can beat 3 minutes on 800m now, so perhaps 6:30 - 7:00 mile time.
Yes im not a long distance runner.

best time for a mile is 5 mins 29 that was last year when i was 15
making a thread about how fast you can run a mile, is like making a thread on the biggest fish you caught, without proof, it just makes me laugh, especially rock_ten's posts. "I did a 5:52 with a 50 lb weight vest after doing no cardio whatsover for months, and I deadlift 1200 lbs!"

So you actually imagined the "weighted vest" part.
I'm flattered that you find my time so incredible, though.
I love monkeys, and besides, everyone knows that all of your posts are bullshit anyway

i had an argument with my boss at work today, he rekons he could do it in under 5 mins, so we have a tenner bet on it. I came home today and decided to do it myself and i did it in 5.33 which im pretty pleased with seeing as im trying to bulk at the moment and iv slacked off running
Just a note of interest, do you guys across the pond typically write out times with a period instead of a colon?

In high school I ran a 4:56, now 20 lbs heavier it is not so easy. Lifting is more fun anyways.

I'm seeing a lot of excuses. I run this but I was overweight. I haven't run in a while but it's this. It's this but I'm bulking. I could easily do better but I'm a sprinter.
Just tell the time and be done with it. If you're unhappy with the time, then change it(run faster not make it up), don't make excuses.
That being said, I did 6:50ish last time I was timed, but that was junior year when I was still out of shape. I haven't had a timed mile since then, but I'm sure I could do more...

My mile time fails, with a time at about 6:30. I don't run too often, and honestly, I fail at running. However, my swimming own.
