I just got started in taekwondo again (after a 7 year break) and just started trying to do some tricks for the first time as well. I tried doing the a 540 about 5 or 6 times with my right leg, and was able to land it about half the time. Fast forward to 2 days later, the inside of my right leg is still pretty sore. Is this normal? It's not like a sharp or ripping pain, just soreness.

Sorry if this was a stupid question, my soreness usually goes away after a day, so I thought I'd post. :dead:

Edit: Hahahahaha my title is wet toast, this forum is hilarious.

It's common, when I returned to wushu after a hip injury I couldn't walk the next day (I rolled out of bed) and was sore for over a week.

Thanks :) I feel better now. I just feel bad, because I just signed back up for Taekwondo and I am scared to go in sore, fearing I might tear some muscle or something.

Don't worry mate. Just don't go 100% if you're allready sore.

Yes it is normal, and it also means your kick was too low, haha.

What I don't understand from all this is that you had to have started TKD at some point and experience pain/soreness from it at first until you got used to it so why are you asking if this is normal after a 7 year break, it's the same damn thing.

Because I was a little kid and I don't remember anything of the sort at that age. Thanks.

Also, the soreness was from attempting a 540 a few times, and it lasted days.

That's how I felt after learning and drilling my 360 crescent kicks for an hour. I couldn't kick with that leg for days! It sucked!!!
