lol Torqued ligaments. I'll be out for about 3 weeks. Doctor said it would've been better if I had just broken it. Dunno about that.

Enjoy

*If everyone could reclick the link and maybe comment it too that'd be awesome! (I feel like eigo) haha*

I did far more stupid than that on a fast track... I sprained BOTH of my ankles on a FRONTFLIP, and I was out for months.

My sprained ankle is juuuuussst recovering.

Here's a tip:
Resist all urges to trick ever. Seriously don't think about doing any. If I had totally rested like I should have my ankle would have been all healed a couple weeks ago.

yeah listen to skilzat! i sprained it too, 2 months ago:\...i was stupid and 2 weeks after i started throwing frontflips, then btwist, then aerials (jumping with my fucked foot) and now i can't even jump with my left leg. it sucks...and i'll be out at least one month more

QFT!!

i pulled all the ligaments in my ankle, and i tricked on it on and off quite soon after the injury, making it worse. And then about 4 weeks later i bailed a double cork, and back to square one =[. Just rest it totally.

Ankle's suck anyway

I think I have something similiar to what happened to you, but mine won't recover that smooth. I smashed it somewhere in December 06/January 07, and I eventually took February 07 trick-free. Then at my first session after so-called 'recovery' I aggrevated it again, haha. Now I basically try to trick around the pain, and avoid moves that make my ankle cringe (switching tricks being the worst).

The biggest pain is when I put that (left) foot down flat, and then bend my ankle to the outside, so that the ball of my foot and the rest are facing the other foot. Fucking shit, the pain!

I'll probably rest up soon... again. It blows though :bad:

I'm stopping for 4 weeks I've decided. The doctor recommended 2-3, but I want to be completely sure it's healed. In the meantime I'll try to build up my muscle and strength.

Thanks for the advice.

Damn it Alexx, hahaha. Wait Won't I just come back stronger than ever?

make sure you do lots of ankle exercises, and wear a strap when you trick from a while after, cause if you do start to roll it again, the strap will take some of the strain, trust mate, i have to wear strap everytime i trick now,,,,,,,:ogre:

I hurt the other ankle before, and I wore a brace. Then one time I accidentally put the brace on the wrong ankle, couldn't tell a difference, and realized I was healed!

They told me to spell the abc's

lol, bless!

i tore ligiments in both ankles and i can do some funny things with them now like almost pop my ankle out of place, and the one time i did not wear a strap cause i thought i would be ok, i broke the 5th met bone and sprained my ankles...... i hate seeing ppl hurt ankles..........

Towels, I have no idea how much you condition your ankles, but do it ALOT more. After an injury like that you start to do it alot more naturally any way..

I suggest getting a pillow, putting it on the ground standing on it one footed and closing your eyes, Balance away.

You can do that while you are recovering, ofcourse if it hurts stop.

Ankles are stupidly weak. Evolution should just go ahead and move on to that effing department, and build us some gurth down there.

How far are we in surgical procedures? Can we safely add plating of some sort to strengthen body parts yet?

No. Ligaments never heal as well as muscles or tendons because they're not meant to stretch nearly as much. That ankle will always be weak, and even after 4 weeks, you'll feel it, but you'll be able to do stuff.

I sprained my ankle 3 times one summer, and that was 2 years ago. My ankle is still week and even after plenty of conditioning since hten, I still occasionally twist it weird doing stupid shit taht shouldn't hurt it. Thankfully I'm only out like maybe a week now, but it's still annoying as hell.

I'd say I could 'feel' my sprain for upwards of 7-8 months after the final sprain.

Towels, i had shitty ankles for months and finally i did basically the same injury as you described. I tore multiple injuries worth of ligaments to the pount where the doctor also told me that I "Might as well have just broken it..." I then did the physio and i'm undoubtedly stronger than before. Wait, don't trick, stretch as much as you can without stressing the injury, and do like 2x as much physio as they say. Be way overzealous about it! You won't even regret this injury when your done :)

Kristo scared the shit out of me.

Cepopeye gave me courage haha. What type of physio did you do

3 weeks really isn't anything at all, towels. When you do start tricking again you might want to tape it up or get a good brace to use for a bit while you get your ankle up to full strength.

dang, my ankle kept me out for a good 8 months.....one month is pretty l lucky.

i rolled my ankle over the same way you did....not on a trampoline though.
you can sort of see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SccKlFAJ8c

did your ankle make a sickening popping/loud crack sound?

Flowers

O wow!! you like hopped on it after!

It made more of a rolling grinding sound. I added the pop to that video for shock effect on BReak.

:: Groundwork ::

You can work Au Batidos...and various other tricks that invloves more use of the hands/arms than the feet. Transitive moves, or like you mentioned above...conditioning.
