I work in a call center, and we're in the lean season. So I spend a lot of my day either surfing forums or pacing 5' back and forth to keep from falling asleep.

There's only so many calf/shin raises I can do in a day, so I'm looking for other things I can do while standing to stretch out and strengthen. I can't do things like pushups because I have to be upright to hit a button on the phone in under a second when a call comes in.

Any suggestions?

Depends on if your the only one in your office or not. If you are, then maybe some pushups (include variations, such as elevated) dips, pistols, ect. At the moment I'm only seeing bodyweight, but I'm probably overlooking things that you can do with weight (other than adding weight to your dips/pushups, which is good)

do jumping excercises even

install a pull-up bar or a treadmill.

Yeah working out at work is good. One thing that's good is to try and pick exercises that will heal you and that compliment whatever it is you're doing. I do a lot of lifting and am standing for my work unless the machine breaks down or it's break, so what I do is when I have time, walk over to this sort of fence-like thing about 2.5ft or so wide and push myself up so my feet don't touch the ground, sort of like the top postiion of a wide-grip dip. That's enough really though, I don't go down, just hold and vibrate and do various leg poses.

If you bent your arm it would mean less time up there, and the main goal is to decompress your body which has been compressed by gravity, giving your spine and feet a rest. he only compressed joints would be your arms, and that's fine because when you're standing walking around they just hang there and get rest. Even when you pick things up it' almost like the weight will decompress you rather than compact as with pushing.

I wore a pair of 5lb ankle weights today, to help stretch me out while suspending, plus it makes it a bit harder. It also makes you sweat a deal more when playing footbag when the machine dies.

There's a lot of good ideas here. I can't do some of them because space is really limited and it's actually pretty crowded, but I've got a couple things to try when I go back to work next week.

Thanks, all!
