Omg this topic really meant something to me.... I've been living off muesli all week no fucking joke (That and celery) and I've been letting off around once every 5 mins. Earlier tonight I had the first food that wasn't muesli... That was Chinese food. :good:

no, the receipe was, oats'n'stuff but never milk

Me and regular oats = so many hideous farts
Me and occasional oats = some farts
Me and no oats (and much less carbs in the morning) = like close to none

Flatulence is the buildup of gasses from the digestive process. So yeah most likely Oats give you worse/more frequent farts depending on the person.

Could be your body adjusting to high fiber intake. Or you could just get digestive disturbance from oats - it's not uncommon with grain foods. Try building up slowly.

The unpleasant odor of flatulence comes from bacteria in the large intestine that release small amounts of gases that contain hydrogen sulfide.

Oatmeal is high in soluble fiber, (Hence CockNcreams comment about Fiber). Soluble fiber dissolves in water forming a gelatinous substance in the bowel, this is a perfect food-source for any bacteria hiding out in there.

On the other hand, insoluble fiber as found in wheat, rye, bran, and other grains do not dissolve in water. It is not used by intestinal colon bacteria as a food source, so these sources generally do not produce intestinal gas.
