I didn't have this 30 minutes ago, but just now, whenever I bend my right knee, this huge click happens like something slipping over something else. It has mild pain whenever it does it, but it is a very awkward sensation.

Anyone else have/had this? Is it doctor worthy?

Wait for a week, if it persists, doctor.

I've had this too a bit. It seems to just sometime happen, normally in the morning. It's normally my knee also. It just sort of...clicks, and then it's fine; as though the knee or something was clicking into place.

Considering you haven't had any pressure on the knee for 7+ hours (depending on how long you sleep) I'm not surprised that it clicks abit. I've had that during my whole life.

Just rest it and see how it does. If you think you need a doctor, then go. Simple as that.

Clicking and popping in the knees is actually quite common. If there is no pain involved, it usually is no reason to be concerned.

The noise is likely a result of cavitation. This link may help clear some things up for you:

Just think of gas being released from fluid around the joint. As you move, gas/fluid are moved/squeezed from one area to another.

Also if there is a slight groove to the knee joint, the ligament can momentarily stick then snap free causing a pop and a strange sensation.

If there was pain associated, you need to look into other possibilities (ex. meniscus tear). This would be a problem.

If you are having pains in the joints, you may want to look into a supplement which contains glucosamine and chondroitin. Cod liver oil is also useful.

Also, keep in mind that mid-to-high volume exercise will strengthen the ligaments. Such higher rep work will also strengthen the slow twitch muscle fibers. It is these muscle fibers that assume the role of stabilizing the joints. If these muscles are under-developed, you may notice pain around the joints (the muscles are not strong enough to stabilize the joints).

Going slow will cause more problems. As you increase speed, the synovial fluid will become less viscous.
