How long does it take for a person to land his frontflip averagely? How long did it take you? I know that some people are better with flips and some are better with twists or kicks, but how long does it take averagely?

It really depends on how determined you are.

It takes averagely...... about x days.

It depends a lot with people, you can't compare. I know somebody who landed it in a few days, others in a year. It depends on how conditioned you are mentally and physically.

Also just landing a frontflip might be cool at first, but tbh it's wack. There's no point in doing a frontflip and landing in a crouch. It's useless and looks crap.

Frontflips are easy.

Just go UP!

The tendency is the wimp out and dive forward with it and land on the back/ass.

Up then flip.

Up then flip

Up THEN flip.

I think you get me.

Oh... and, not long.

I'm better with flips. mmmmm....frontflip eh. I'm not sure how long it took for me to learn it...but i've heard its harder than a backflip. But i can do both the same really so it doesn't really affect me! I'm not sure how long it would take to learn them though. Best to start learning them on a tramp, or plyo. thats how I did it anyway.

so far i've spent two fucking years to frontflips, drilling them almost every session, carefully analyzing my technique everytime, and i every single time i land squatting. this move is the most evilist evil move for me. i've seen hundreds of people landing it standing after a few times of practicing, yet my effort doesn't get rewarded, and i really fucking hate that. :ogre:

Im at a half-ass, half-back landing and i have only practised it straight for two days. I was always able to do it like this though. Is this good?

The key is having the confidence to jump up to your full potential height before performing a rapid tuck and 'untuck' to land standing.

This confidence comes with time and effort. I predict that you will soon be landing these on your feet but landing standing may take longer.

Good luck though, it's really not such a hard move in the end. Don't be afraid of it.

My problem is actually sticking the landing. I can't stick my damn legs out after I'm done the flip, so I land crouched.

Yeah, i rotate better if i do actually jump up, instead of just jumping out and doing the flip.

There are tricks that i would have never thought i would reach, but i did. And i wouldnt have thought that when i first tried them out. I recon its the same situation.

Anyway, thanks for everyones help, its appreciated :good: .

Cool, I land my fronts crouched on grass since I started them yesturday after a year of not doing them. But land fine or semi fine on plyo

Ive managed to get them so I land standing now (vid in my samp, see sig). What I did was change my technique from jumping with my hands over my head and swinging them down to jumping with my hands pointing UP in front of me and RAMMING my arms upwards. Like I said, if you want an example, see samp.

I hate the part when you have to pull your legs down to land in a frontflip.
Frontflips are not relaxing..

Pull them down?

I dunno, I finally got my frontflips standing when I did the following:

Jump up and outwards instead of straight up. Before I got too much height on my fronts and by the time I had rotated I had no forwards momentum

Delay the tuck like normal, but tuck as FAST as possible very soon after jumping.

Hold the tuck as LONG as possible

To help the tuck longer untuck as late and as fast as possible.

I've not got as much height as before, but I land standing with a lot of forward momentum to combo, now I just need to be able to stepout..

WTF man that was the cleanest frontflip i've seen since Sesshoumaru's kneeling frontflip.

By the way, is the frontflip easier once you have your front handspring?

@skywalker: thanks i'll try that too.

Yeah, basically you need lots of confidence
