Hey just a little quick question. I got down some 540s today. Now all I need to do is work on straightening the leg.

My question is [for those who also started out with a bent leg], did this problem just disappear over time as you became more use to doing the move and familiar with everything? Or did you have to change something specifically with your 540?

Any answers to this would be great thanks!

The only thing I can think of is trying just to lean back a little bit more, apart from that I figured it would come with time.

also, as you practice 540s, just try and keep them straight. as in, force that leg straight even if you dont land it. because if you keep bending in your leg, you'll probably form a bad habit.

I'd say your biggest problem is lacking a camera that can actually record videos..

Haha I would buy a video camera if I could but at the moment Im saving up for my NZ ski trip in september, and then for Schoolies... both of which aren't cheap!

Therefore I have to make do with what I have [crappy phone camera] :)

dont focus on straightening the kick the whole way thru...

SNAP the kick at its peak, like you would for a regular roundhouse.

if you snap it right and then keep it straight from that point until landing, it should actually make the landing easier; it forces your kicking leg to the ground

PLUS, the snap makes it look sweet.

ON A SIDE NOTE, i just got my backhandspring back... couldn't do it since september. NICE!
