I've looked at Dogen's Tutorials about Blocking. I've watched the videos many times and try to replicate what they are doing. I myself have yet to see any increase in my vertical, any tips? I can post a video if need be.

You mean your vertical leap or what? Blocking doesn't improve your jumping ability, it just redirects momentum upwards so you get higher.

Yeah, thats what I meant. My vertical leap is just the same as if I weren't blocking, so I'm pretty sure I'm not doing it right..

Just hit the ground at as small an angle as possible. Ideally you should be less that 45 degrees. The smaller the angle (the more you push your legs to hit at an angle), the greater amount of forward momentum is transferred into upwards momentum.

That's the basis anyway. It works.

Before you try it in harder moves, i suggest trying it in Frontflips and sideflips, both of those helped me get used to blocking, all you really do is put your Legs or leg as the case maybe, In front of your momentum, like was said above 45ish degree's.
