I don't even considering golf courses around here because golfers from here suck. Usually the guys in the driving range send there balls off into the putting green some how.

I like groomed and healthy grass; About a day or two after a light rain where it is softer but completely dry / and cut and SCALPED so I'm not kicking up or slipping the cut grass debris. GOURMET GRASS
The other best is real, gymnastics plyometric floor. Not that beige crap at my gym, the shit that cheerleading gyms buy or build on discount or the Toronto Birchmount wannabe plyofloor. I'm talking about the real, regulation gymnastics plyofloor that is manufactured by gymnastic equipment companies.
Other than obvious things like concrete, gravel, etc... I really hate freshly cut grass that's wet; When the cut blades are attracted to your body like a magnet. When it's summer it stinks, sticks, and slips. Terrible.
ahh proper plyo kicks ass,
shitt street had the best around here, but shitt street are assholes
and about the freshly cut grass.......AGREED

Uneven, clumpy, moderately overgrown grass sucks too. Every step is uneven or inconsistent and it's unbelievably distracting.

Hey, how about tricking on grass underneath trees? Say, like someone's backyard that has some trees near? All the acorn, seed, pinecone dropplings?! ARGHHHH!!!
And how about tricking in my backyard now that my dog leaves land minds every 5 feet. Tricking on grass well visited by a pet dog sucks too.
Man I can think of more bad examples than I thought...
juji is on fire
ok lemme think of some
when people have had a pissup and leave smashed glass everywhere
places with hidden thistles or stinging nettles
a gay ass hill
mmm.... grass.
concrete is fun but hurty and not bouncy :eh:

Tricking in the middle of the woods has got to be the worst of any acceptable area. Trees every 5 feet, branches hanging down in the way, sharp rocks hidden under the leaves, holes from various burrowing animals...hell I'v been harrassed by the animals themselves
places with hidden thistles or stinging nettles
yeah nettles are a nuisance, poison ivy hidden among the weeds in the lawn is even worse I think
My favorite is scalding hot dunes for sure

Thats like the grass in the first part of my backyard, it's not over grown just very inconsistent with sink holes . But is a nice location for a video lol. BUt the Grass in the rest of my yard is level and nice providing I bust out the lown mower.

I have an apple tree in the yard to I usually get branched if I'm to lazy to go into the bigger part of the yard. Much Fun

Oh I hate tricking bare foot on Florida Grass, It's like tricking on a wire scrub brush. The you round off smash into a fire ant hill.

The best tricking surface would be the grass + plyo hybrid flooring we were discussing in a thread in TT once.
I actually like muddy grass because it dampens the landings much better than dry grass because of the dirt being so compact and unmoldable.
Concrete and any other hard floor is the least favourite definately.

I don't get why none of you like concrete, it has good grip, no give so you can get nice height, and as far as the landings go -strengthen your joints a little if it hurts.

I don't like concrete because there is this cheese grater on skin effect when you bail out

I quite like sand.
But you have to find the area with the right saturation.
Too dry and it gives way too easily.
Too wet and it's like concrete.

YES !
once i took off a double leg on the really dry stuff so i had an awful take off and then landed on the concrete stuff so had an even worst landing :dead: .
i can't imagine astroturf being nice to trick on, slipping on that gives you massive grazes and gets sand in the cuts.
there were some mats in my old school we would put out to try things on.. and these things were literally death, you'd think that they would be nice and cushioney, but they were rock solid !
I love tricking on plyo, and fresh springy grass.
Baked concrete grass suckkkss balls.

Hm, today I was tricking on a big field that was mowed like 2 days ago - but it has been done sloppy and with a big ass machine. There were these huge tire-tracks in the grass, and loose cut grass spread everywhere - I was kicking it up all the time haha. Annoying!
Grass 1 or 2 days after a rain rocks. I like this:

Bonus points for the chickens.
erm i like carpeted wooden flooring.
astro-turf isn't too bad; not ideal, but trick-on-able. If it's too wet it's too slippery though, and if it's too dry it's too sand-slidey.

I hate the right side of my backyard, its a crazy hurt to land on, and the grass slips alot. Also, it looks like crap.
I really like the left side of my backyard. Nice and soft, same with one of my friends yard. Less specific, I like yards that are no where near trees or anything, yet have long grass. I love long grass, it feels so good.

Favourite surfaces: Nice astrotuff; soft, well kept grass, with even leveling; plyo,
Least favourite: Rough grass, with uneven leveling and hard clumps of dirt and craters in it, and thistles scattered throughout. The type of grass that if you land off, you're probably rolling an ankle...

In my entire existence at TT, never has Juji posted in the same thread more than twice. This is a first time I've seen him do it, and I've been here for almost three and a half years.
I love astroturf "grass". Specifically the stuff at WLU. It's got little rubber squishy pieces mixed in, so it keeps your feet warm in the sun, and it provides a cushy landing. It's heaven! And it doesn't give you the extra bounce of plyo, so anything you can do on that, you should be able to do on normal grass.
I hate: wet, muddy, and grass that's full of weeds and sticks.

I have never tricked on astroturf, I've actually never been on astro before
I attempted backflips (failing horribly, of course) on grass full of twigs, ants and dead sticky leaves.
Let's just say I got camouflaged.

HEY! I like concrete haha. But it's not my favorite.
Definitly the grass that juji described is my favorite.
My least favorite is grass that is not flat, bumpy with little holes and stuff, just asking for disaster X_X

Soft frictional carpet. Hotel carpets are too hard. I have a really soft strip of grass in my backyard but the whole area of grass still has tiny pieces or twigs and stuff from autum which stabs your feet. Thats why I have to practise kicks in socks.

Over-all I'd new wrestling mats are the best, because the old ones get hard.
all my solo training is done in sand..
It helps alot you have to put it in ALOT more effort to land things..when I go to gatherings and trick on grass, I can notice the difference and increase in power I get from trainiing on sand..also stacks don't hurt as much..
downside is I have to get the sand out of all my clothes after every session which is atleast once or twice day.

Scalco! Come trick in my field of wonderment and joy with me! We can hug each other and roll around in each others arms and have a picnic!
And no, I assure you that grass is as soft as a baby's ass, my friend. That's my stomping grounds over here at Towson.

my favorite surface are those hard mats, that provide concrete-like jumps, yet relatively soft landings and excellent grip! i'm talking about these mats in this doublebtwist clip on club540: http://www.club540.com/tricktionary/720_twist.mpg
my least favorite surfaces are unleveled grass, hard grass, thin grass, very hot grass, not grasslike grass, thick grass, long grass, full-of-weed grass and bugs grass. but other than that i like grass

freshly cut grass baby!!!!!
kamikaze!

o yeah I agree with you.
Nothing's better than freshly cut grass after raining.
Grass with a mossy surface a.k.a my front yard is a nice place. I live next to a forest so there be alot of moss on the lawn, the pine needles are abit annoying though.
