My dad's a doc, but I really don't wanna tell him how bad it is..
'Cause if I do - No tricking for me.. .X__X
I think I'll try to get an orthopedist to look at my knee without telling him.
It's not the knee that is in pain, but the liagments on the inner side if the knee... X__X

How do you actually hyper extend a knee?
White Nazgul
May-20-07, 11:39 AM
um.. You do a HIGH cwfront... open up too early and too violently..
your heel smacks the ground at a really un-fortunate angle (while your leg is locked), your knee bends the OTHER way for a second.
You die in PAIN!
:)

why is it called a hyper extension if its just the knee going the wrong way?
White Nazgul

Because the liagments that are located on the back side of the knee are hyper-extended (sp?) up to a point the should NOT have been...
All said from (unfortunately) personal knowledge.. X__X
GAh, I really hope that it'll heal as fast as the hamstring hyper.ext. i had.. X__X
But for now I can't even straighten my leg fully - my splits are DEAD!
DOCTOR! NOW!
Pardon my language but fuck what your dad thinks about tricking, how the hell is he going to stop you from doing it in the future? Tell you off with a high tone and forewarning finger to the face? Man up and seek medical assistance ASAP boyo.

well, it's not that they can PROHIBIT me (from?)tricking...
But thy always complain about the fact that I jsut ruin my body.. X__X
And I probably will go to a doctor 2morrow..
The thing is - it's not THAT bad - I can walk (slowly), and I can bend my knee and shit.
It's only the liagments.... the same shit that happened to my hamsrings once (oh, um.... twice on the same one actually).. It heals up by itse;f with time and warming. Not more than a micro-injury.
I just wanted 2 know if there is something additional you ppl use to make the healing process faster (I for example apply BENGAY and put elastic bandage on the muscle\liagment during nights - it shortens the time it takes to heal by a LOT)....
Thanks for the concern though1 :)

Thanks, but I figured it out today... X__X
If my hams and quads had been strong enough the damage would be lesser.. .X__X
That's the thing I did after hyperextending my right ham (twice.. X__X) - I got dem splits so it would never happen again! :P
It's a bit better now... And I'm gonna see a physio 2morrow...
Great 540 hook you got there Mateus btw! :)
Try just to DIP a bit later, so you won't be that off-balance!: :)
sounds like a MCL tear. but you said hyperextend......

You can get multiple injuries from a single event.
Recently I hurt myself. I dislocated my right kneecap, and I'm pretty sure I have a strained right MCL. They both came from one event.
Also, muscle injuries are much quicker to heal than tendon/ligament injuries due to the fact that muscles have a much higher bloodflow, bringing nutrients to repair the tissue.
All you can do is move only within your comfortable range of movement. Don't try to work through the pain, as that will rarely help. Take it as slowly as you need to in order to insure that it heals well.
