Earlier this month, Team Angled out of Beloit, Wisconsin (members consisting of Patrick/musasabi, Roger/grymm, and Bri/zoop) held a mini gathering during the time Patrick was back at home on leave.

Both Scott (from Cali) and myself (from Michigan) traveled over and stayed there for a few days with Patrick, Roger, Bri and their families.

Some of you might remember the original Wisconsin Gathering sampler. This is basically the second one, with Scott being the additional guest this time around. If you haven't seen it, don't worry. I'll have a link for that as well at the bottom of this post.

My time there was once again a blast, and I'd like to thank:

Patrick - This of course wouldn't happen without you. Great meeting you again and I'm glad you got to spend your opportunity back at home with us. It was a pleasure. Definetly a much needed break for me and will stand out already as one of highlights of this year for me. Thanks for contributing the Streelight Manifesto song for the sampler. Not to mention providing a link.

Ivy - A big help being a camera person and like Pat, great to meet again. Thanks so much. =)

Roger: Same as Patrick. Awesome meeting you again. You add so much to the fun factor when hanging out with you guys. Oh and I'll get your shirt signed and sent back to you sometime soon. I keep putting that off haha. I think I'll have to get your address from you again sometime on AIM. Forgot it again. =\ Also thanks for contributing the Roadrunner United song for the sampler.

Bri: Yay Bri! It definetly wouldn't be quite the same without you there again. Thanks for making this experience that much more fun.

Scott: Oh my god, going circles around Chicago trying to get my way through O'Hare, etc was so worth it in the end haha. Nice getting to know you more one-on-one. Met you in TO but it was more of a brief association thing there. Karaoke during the car ride back and forth from the airport ftw and whatnot. Of course it was not only awesome watching you trick but you inspired me to making lifting a regular activity for me finally. You're an example of why these little gatherings are so much better than the big ones most of the time. Much props and thanks. Also, your cam made this sampler so much better and I was happy to do it justice. We have a great quality sampler as a result.

Elisha: Of course you won't read this but maybe Roger or Pat can pass on the message somehow: I can't thank her enough for allowing the opportunity to use the gym for that time period. It worked out perfectly and without it's use the gathering would have been so much less than what it was. Definetly a sacrifice on her part too I'm sure. Thank you thank you THANK YOU.

Everyone else involved: To families and friends I missed, the same goes. Thank you.

I have in some training footage of mine somewhere. Also a Michigan Gathering WILL happen...someday. One of the gyms here is rentable I'm just waiting until I get my own place (later this year) and then maybe sometime in '08 I'll see about putting one together.

Haha! And I landed 6 more pounds since wisconsin (actually more than that).

I was about 165 during Wisconsin and I average 172-174 now.

I still haven't tricked. My recovery from leg workouts always land during the usual gym sessions I'd had before Wisconsin, but I'm messing with my workout schedule to save my legs and actually start tricking again.

Haha that place is Roger's "front yard" if you can even call it that. Just a narrow strip of grass in front of his house. MUCH DANGER. We didn't pick it because we thought it was a great tricking spot but it was the best available with reasonable lightining given the fact it was a rather spontaneous session as soon as everyone was together for this mini gathering.

Also, my c720? What about 'em? I throw at least a couple in this sampler? What are wondering about 'em.

That's the point silly. I hate making samplers where the end is the least exciting. I feels like a total letdown. Don't like watching them either. At least not for this style of sampler. The point is to keep building the sampler unti it reaches it's climax, which is the end. I had to do the best with the footage I had, so I did. Sorry you didn't like it as a whole. You're the first to even say something like that haha. Most people think the whole thing is great.

Just because the very best tricks aren't at the beginning doesn't make the rest automatically suck. You're entitled to your opinion of course but that seemed a bit stupid to me. You can't have AMAZING tricks throughout the ENTIRE course of a video. Some are naturally going to be better or worse than others.

Okay. Well this sampler's purpose isn't to IMPRESS, but to show the experience. I figure that's what most gathering samplers are for. When we want to impress with our best tricking we make individual samplers, haha.
