So when I think Arabian, I think a Front tuck from a backwards start. I don't think anyone would argue that it's not simply a "back half twist." The turn occurs prior to inversion in an Arabian. This being said, technically you could do an arabian full... start backwards, turn 180, and do a front full... a total of 540 degrees. I look at arabian as being a term that means you're doing a forward tumbling technique from a conventional (backwards) start. It occured to me today though, that I don't know where I got this frame of mind from, so it may be an inaccurate assumption. I know that most tumbling coaches I know refer to an arabian in which you flip twice as "Arabian Double Front." Basically, I'm asking if anyone KNOWS the answer, does "arabian" merely mean that it's a forward tumbling technique with a backwards start, or does it specifically mean backwards set-180 spin-front tuck?
