I've been working on my b-twists for so long now my hair is probably going to fall out soon. anyway i went tricking yesterday and my mate told me a few things i was doing wrong and i just want to emphasise how much they completely change the move. Im not sure if all these points are true and if its just chance their working for me so correct me if im wrong.

1) in the set-up as you go to take off, make sure you really turn your body, watch juji's tutorial and he says to go around and behind you in the dip. its around the 1:45 mark in the tutorial. i tried this and i landed straight away 1st try

2) as you are about to take-off, you've dipped, the back leg is coming up actually turn your head and face the way your turning, alot of ppl just look at the ground.

3) use your arms in the dip, for example, if your taking off from your left leg... pull that left arm right around and just follow it with your head, a) it will help you do your dip properly and b) it will make it alot easier to twist coz you will turn your head.

i know that these are explained in the tutorial and what not, i just want to emphasise how much they actually change the move

Using your arms in the dip really doesn't matter. They won't help you dip properly, heck if you need them to dip something is wrong haha.

They'll only help coming out of the dip really.

i think its because they dont fully understand the purpose of the dip.

and people also forget that the body goes where you head is.

thats why people who keep staring at the ground dont spin.

I think that maybe these are not the most crutial elements, but the ones you were struggling with.

1. Turn your body, but do NOT over-rotate your leading shoulder past your hips; this kills centrifugal force by laying your body out. You're better off "throwing" your other shoulder INWARDS while hugging to generate spin.

2. Yes; and make sure you can do a high, clean b-kick in this way to gauge your height. You only really need 3ish feet off of the ground depending on how fast you can spin, but the higher you can float, the better and more time you have to rotate the 300ish degrees.

3. Yes; just don't throw your leading arm so far in that your shoulder over-turns, as mentioned in number 1.

The higher you can throw that back leg along with an arched back, the more air time you generally get. I was doing shuriken twists before I even knew what they were, only because my b-kick is pretty good (with my torso maybe 4.5ish ft off of the ground).

When twisting, you have you get a feel for how long you can stall to get the best timing, at least in my case. A lot of people just go straight to b-twist from the jump, and end up with shitty angles, even if their height looks decent; imo that's just cheating/laziness.
