View Full Version : Acrobat teeterboard-dude's backflip form..
Could someone please be nice and make a gif in slow-mo of this guy (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ucXgKSDB25o)?
His technique is so damn perfect!

It's not really slow, but dovicka made a gif of it when he started trying the technique:

and
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/336/picture008bt2.gif
He lands really well on the second, but has overspan.
The important parts are basically, he jumps to his maximum height while looking straight forward, stalls, whips hands from top back to legs, cowboy tucks and tries to bring needs to/behind his head.

dovicka has a really weird backflip form, his elbows come right out
I have nowhere to upload the video and it's a FLV file...
But if you have Firefox, you could download a plug-in called "video-downloader".
You'll need FLV player to play it though.. On Videodownloader.net, they've got a converter (to convert FLV to WMA or AVI.. etc) and the FLV player.
This might be too much work for you. I don't expect you to do it, but I hope so!
It would be cool to have all the good backflips in the video made in GIF's..

If you can convert it from FLV to AVI, re-upload it, and send it to me, I'll do it no problem.

cowboy tucks are fugly and unnecessary when doing a standing backtuck

If you go here, http://vixy.net/, you can just paste the link of the youtube video into the box and it will convert it to a .avi so you can download it. (or .mov or whatever else you want).

LIES! I love doing them when I do standings.
i guess its just my personal preference then, i just dont like the way it looks like your squatting for a poo mid air
Haha...well, I do them because I enjoy doing standing 1 1/4s to my back, and that makes it that much easier. So it's a habit now.

XAAAAAAA!!!!
thats is my beta version flip, i was in the process of adapting the teeterboarder's technique and tried some stuff out.
but notice: he is on rod floor, rod floor gives lots of bounce even on standing moves.
here is an okay flip i did attempting to adapt his technique, i haven't perfected it cause i've only been trying to do it like him for about a week

and yeah, i really like the guy's moves!! almost flawless technique, so pwitty *-*

You're problem is that you lean back before the takeoff, almost like you're going to do a backwards hand spring, focus on jumping up not back.
Also, (I said above) he cowboy tucks, you're not.

Flawless form or not, he get's high because he's ripped and built.
Yep. I use the same form for my back-tucks, only I don't get an as clean landing as dovicka; who I might say can get as high as teeterboard given some more time and conditioning. Look forwards, never back, and toss those arms straight up.
And do em 25 times in a row for an excellent explosive abdominal workout.

Towels thats the dumbest thing you've ever said!
look at his tuck on the regular sprung floor, its JUST higher than mine and that tuck i did ON GRASS was after 3 days trying to emulate his technique after 3 weeks of not tricking at all.

You cannot deny the fact that strength plays an enormous role in Height.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=SFjixQw0lvU
That guy is massive
Dovicka
Jun-16-07, 08:27 PM
next time i am on rod floor ill do one as high or higher than his, but I will try to within the next week get a vid of me doing one as high or higher than the one he does on the sprung floor
just because he is massive and has really high tucks doesn't mean that it is because he is massive that he has high tucks.
thats like saying this guy has a really big cock (and is ugly) and he can't get layed, so it is because of his big cock that he cannot get layed
Flowers
Jun-16-07, 08:33 PM
no its not lol.
I'm not saying form doesnt have anything to do with it, but I've done form exactly like yours and his and I wasn't able to get nearly as high. Strictly because I lack the muscular structure as of yet.
Dovicka
Jun-16-07, 08:47 PM
NOOOO, stop arguing this point, it is not being built, it is having a high vert which has nothing to do with being "built"
I have a 29 inch vert last time i checked, he probably has a 25-35 inch vert, whatever he has it is not enough to make a huge difference between our tucks done the same way.
I remember a while back a vid i saw of you, you did a standing vert and it looked to be about 18-22 inches which (not your fault, vert is stupidly hard to acquire and i don't know how i got mine) and no offense, but unless you prove to me with a vid that you did the same technique im going to have to assume by seeing all your vids that you think it is the same but i can clearly see differences in it
Flowers
Jun-16-07, 08:50 PM
hahaha you got me there. Being built and high vert are big differences. My bad.
I give thanks to you as you are what helped my backflip with it is. I will film one tomorrow and you can analyze it. If you have a low vert, sometimes cheating it may be easier?
Dovicka
Jun-16-07, 08:55 PM
ok, post it, ill probably be tricking tommorow too
Looks like Dovicka's got a new goal. I think this will be a really good experiment to test strength vs. technique; while we know that the latter will usually win, it's fun to find out the extent of this.
Are you kidding Towelses? That link you posted of the beast mode backflip looked like it was done by a 150 lb cheerleaderman. He certainly wasn't massive, or even muscular, haha.

lol what the ? That guy looks average, he clearly has a huge vert and he sort of blocks into it.
I don't know how high my vert is (I'll measure today) but on my backtucks my ass gets as high as where my face is when standing.

he can rely on muss rather than technique, but his combination of pretty good tech and a shitload of muss makes it what it is.

ya, my vert isn't as high as his, but i can land one just like him, on GRASS.
i measured my vert today and its only 26", it went down since i lost my trampoline. But I am ordering a mat to replace my old one that 20 of the springs ripped off of.
Nice Dovicka!
Does the trampoline really increase your vert?
My vert sucks ass(15 inches) and I've had my tramp for about 7 years.
Edit: You could get even more height by landing in the same spot.

That's sweet Dovicka, have you RO BF's changed aswell?
Possibly a new 'new backtuck' tutorial?
Nice Dovicka!
Edit: You could get even more height by landing in the same spot.
How does landing in the same spot make you go higher?
He would of landed in (pretty much) the same spot if he had held the tuck longer but he snapped out of it to land (more) straight legged.

People should tell how they measured their vert when posting about it imo. Cause some people stand up in front of a wall on flat feet and see how high they can touch the wall, then jump and touch the wall on the peak of their jump and then measure their vert as the difference between the measured heights. And this is not the way to do it.
Because the first measurement should be done while standing on you toes not flat footed, or else it would give you anything around 4 inches extra.
Ofcourse there are other ways to measure it but I'm using this as an example.
My vert was 13 inches about one year ago (which is looooooowwww) Tomorrow I'll measure it again, although I do not expect any drastic improvements.

oh so trampolining increases your vert noticable!? I'm glad I've had a trampoline for so long, and btw my tramp is also starting to loose springs but if you did wait until 20 of the strings were ripped off so can I:wicked:
Just measured my vert again! It's still 15 inches! YAY! I still have a shitty vert.
The springs gets ripped off? Holy shit.
