Tricking is the type of whore that you meet and have a one night stand with, gives you phenomenal sex, and then steals your wallet and money in the morning before you wake up...Fuck.

I made decent progress last week and could at least spin 900 (landing was just an issue). This week I warm up and hit 720 a few times. Go for 900 and my leg comes out 540 in for a pop 720. Try again, same shit...Rinse and repeat. I eventually correct that and get stuck at 720 which now becomes hit and miss. I decide to warm up with pop 360's and feilongs, getting nice height (for a noob like myself at least). I hyper a few feilongs, land some legs together, and prep for 720 triple work. I go to work on blocking again, and lo and behold, I can't get as high on any pop trick anymore! I try to change back to what I was using before and get piss low. Try b-kicks, and that goes to fucking hell. Try moonkicks and land in some fucked up weird way. So I decided to try illusion twists and that went to hell. I figured I'd go to work on (was tired at the time) 540's and I can't get the kick out anywhere near decent, just some jump over the leg looking bullshit.. I try again and pull my fucking groin. And then my hair tie just snaps, and my hair is going all over the place and in my face so I'm landing blind rocking it out Dave C style, 500x shittier of course.. I have no idea how Dave C does it, but I have just that much more respect for the guy (it's like tricking with a blindold); that's tricking on a whole other level..And then in the end, when I can't see a damn thing, I somehow start landing moonkicks consistently. dead tired with a pulled groin...

:dead:

Tricking is so bloody frustrating.

Lesson learned: don't trick tired.

For sure..I should have learned last time when I tricked tired and had a similar experience. I think I'm going to chill out with the tricks for a bit and just go back to the basics (basic kicks, connecting moves, etc-basic tricks) and work my way up again to clean things up.. I think I've made decent progress for 5 somewhat proper weeks of tricking...

Do not cut your hair

Also, I have no tips or advice on how to see around it, other than learn how to trick without your eyes.

Haha yeah, frustrated and tired tricking just won't work...

One time I was determined to land a certain trick, but I just couldn't - and I spent being alone outside for like 2 hours trying pretty much the same shit over and over again, until I was like 'FUCK THIS' and went home pissed off.

That session really learned me that sometimes you just have to relax - there's a lot of days to practise that trick on. Not everything goes well when you want it to, everyone has crappy tricking sessions once in a while. It's natural.

Just go away and come back another time - or do something that won't piss you off as much haha :bandit:

^true^

though it's very hard to just ignore your ego and tell yourself to stop the session. whenever i find myself practicing a trick over and over again for hours without results, and when i'm getting tired and frustrated, i just can't get myself to give it up. it's like "one more try and i'm sure i'll land it", that's even more frustrating haha

Haha yes that is very true also. When I finally abort the bad session I'll be annoyed all day long, and from the inside I'll feel some sort of defeat.

Oh, and that 'one more try and I'm sure I'll land it' can eventually break you, physically and mentally - especially on some harder tricks

first-don't cut your hair unless you want to, it may be wierd but sub-conciousally it's part of your tricking style.
second-don't worry, everyone has shit sessions, once you rest up a bit you'll go back to it and hit everything you wanted
three-if you ever feel like somethings not going right, stop. Cause you'll only get injured, it may be hard to do..but you'll thank yourself in the end.

Keep tricking man, this is what tricking is..a definate learning experience. And regardless of how much it feels like your not progressing, you are in certain areas.

I'm definitely not cutting my hair; long hair sort of grows on you. I definitely don't have enough air awareness to trick with my hair out like you Dave. Maybe one day lol.

I didn't want to stop because I paid for the gym session and didn't want to sort of have that money wasted. Next time that happens, I'll work on improving roundoffs, or try ground work, etc.

And now thinking back in retrospect, I think those moonkicks were pretty much gainerflashes because I took two steps foward, leg over the shoulder, and landed facing the front as if I flipped over. It didn't feel like I sort of went b-kickish midway like the other ones, but over the top. Piss!!

My groin is almost fine now, it's just the shitty shin splint in my right leg.
