mrbrent, people around here tend to have a fond hatred towards eigo because of his capitalistic approach to the "creation" of a new sport [MLM] which happened to be the same as an already established sport, Martial Arts Tricking. Also, I am good at ollies which impressed people, but I can't actually even skate a vert ramp and would fall over if I attempted to do anything which took any type of actual skill...

It wouldn't be as irritating if people who are bashing him were actually in a position to do so, if you didn't get that -> most people that bash him are no where near as skilled as him in the tricks he actually does (not too many I know), people should stop trying to go with the flow and bash him all the time when comparing the tricks Joe does to theirs they'd suck immensely.

As for your dlegs, take a little bit more of a run-up. You'll SOAR if you give yourself a little more momentum. Also, torque your upper body as hard as you can. Use your arms a little more, which should help with this. You want your legs to catch up with your upper body in the air. A perfect example of this is Juji's. Look at his tutorial if you need a visualization of this concept.

I'm no expert but from what I understand the term "tricking" (in the Martial Arts Tricking sense) came into use in the 80's on the sport karate circuit. It was a term that encompassed any acrobatic/extreme movement used to compliment martial arts techniques in forms and demonstrations.

However I'm certain that the many of the actual moves (360, 540 , b-twist, aerial etc.) have existed for much much longer than that in wushu, capoeira (probably for centuries).

Not to mention the pure gymnastic/acrobatic skills which have also been around for centuries.
