ive been working on flexibility and strength and i can almost do the splits. ive learned aerials(gymnast and tricker), and i can do a 540 and 360 kicks. i want to learn the back moves like handsprings and tucks but i dont have a spotter. i was thinking about learning double legs but i dont have any mats to attempt them on.

Go with dlegs if you don't have a spotter. You don't really need a mat for that, I've found it doesn't help at all. I usually worry about falling on the mat instead of trying the trick. Work on getting your 360 crescents down incredibly well. Look at Juji's tutorial. That will help you SO much in learning about the move.

I have a big high jump mat as well as other mats in the track area at my school :juji:. I tried doing a side flip and a double leg on grass before and crashed on my side knocking the wind out of me. I got a nasty bruise to because my elbow jabbed into my side for the side flip. What school do you to?

You seriously don't need a spotter for bhs.
I read this good guide that taught you a method for learning it as a move that isn't scary at all, and it worked.
I'll try and find that and will edit.
(You don't need a spotter for btucks either but they are definitely a lot more scary)
I learned to bhs and btuck without a spotter and I can't double leg on grass yet.
Edit: hmph well I can't seem to find it anymore, looks like the website had an update and the old forums weren't kept. Sorry

IF youv got a good gymnast aerial, give some aerial variations a try.

Are you supposed to spin the same way with 360 kick and 540 kick? (change kicking legs?)
