Here's a vid of my first tries at slant gainers and my attempts at getting the btwist.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=13pEXEKDLxM

Contrary to slant gainers, I've been trying to land my btwist for a while (being a month and a half) and I can't seem to land it.

My technique isn't perfect, but i've watched a lot of other videos both good and not so good. For some reason even the not so good ones can land it(a bit ugly but nonetheless). Why can't i land it? JUST LAND IT. At this point I'm not even trying to get it to look really nice, i'm just trying to stand up at the end.

If you haven't noticed, I'm getting a bit frustrated...because I suck.

Tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

(oh and yes i did post my older btwist vid before...just hoping I can get some updated tips =D)

I say ditch the slant gainers and try corkscrews. I think you'd be better at them.

Thankfully your problems aren't too hard to fix :).

For the slant gainer, dude hahah what a stylish takeoff. It looks like you're fixin to fly. Just after you peak in the jump, stop looking up! Haha. After your jump up spot the landing.

For the b-twist, your delay is nice but when you twist first of all you need to pull your arms into you, really wrap them in. And also, LOOK over your shoulder! When you twist you keep your head looking in front of you, instead look over your shoulder, hard!

And don't listen to tricker_d's stupid advice, he can't even front handspring! Plus, he's telling you to do a corkscrew which is a twist when your twisting clearly needs to be better (using the tips I provided). First get your slant gainers good (not that hard), then land that b-twist well. Then combine them both and you'll have a mighty fine cork!

Thanks for the tips!

I saw your site Skilzat and it's pretty good!

Anything else I can do to just improve my btwist in general?

slant gainer - look over your shoulder more

btwist - get a good butterfly kick first, then just twist when the second leg is higher than the first

Not till I see the fixed up version,. It seems from the video that if done right it should turn out relatively above average in comparison to most peoples first btwists.

Hey but corkscrews look cooler than slant gainers :flesh:

well, i tried the btwist again, keeping in mind to jump up, look over my shoulder and torque hard....unfortunately i still can't land it...

my body sucks.

It seems like I'm giving up 3/4 of the way through the twist. Anybody have the same problem and fixed it?

Try doing the moving set up with more forward momentum. Once you can land them from that turning set up with forward momentum, standing ones will be easier to attempt.
