Whats the best way about going for a 3 day split?
Would this be ok
Chest, Triceps
Back, Biceps
Legs, Shoulders

im not too sure about where to put shoulders in, any ideas?

Your shoulders will be worked in most pushing and pulling movements.

so would i be better sticking shoulders in with chest and triceps?

Hard to say. Try a few ways and see what works best for you.

Shoulders assist in both pushing and pulling movements, so they can be hard to place in a split. They will be worked in all pushing and pulling movements, so you may not even need to add them in specifically.

Unless you want to specifically target the medial delts, which you could throw in anywhere.

also on chest day im thinking of doing bench press, incline bench press, incline flyes. Should i alternate the exercise i do first each workout?

If you feel like it. Won't make a significant difference either way.

The classic, traditional bodybuilding split is as follows:

MON:chest/triceps
TUES: back/biceps
WED: rest
THURS: thighs/calves
FRI: shoulders
SAT: rest
SUN: rest
repeat

People also like doing push/pull/legs (meaning: chest/triceps/shoulders, back/biceps/traps, thighs/calves/glutes).... but often times the push workout goes on too long for many people.

However, for all intents and purposes... chest/triceps, back/biceps, legs/shoulders is a perfectly decent way to train.

I'm doing a three day split right now, except I am working each muscle group twice a week. I don't know if that is what you're going for, or if you only are planning to workout 3 days each week.

This means that I have been using a traditional bodybuilder template when training.. Without knowing it.

Nice.

nah i can only train 3 times a week in the gym because i do karate training 3 times a week, and training a full week would fuck me over

I like to pair up Biceps with Shoulders. works well for me, but I pretty much do what mr. popular's post shows. I also do a 4 on 2 off split.
