Is it a good choice if you want to learn about fitness, conditioning, and excercise? I saw a bit of the book and it had all sorts of things in it. So what book is best in your opinion if you want to learn about conditioning and such a bit more?

The one that is specific to your preferred type of activity.

Do you enjoy running, walking, swimming, jumping, crawling and otherwise doing manly things in full combat gear? If your answer is 1, then buy one. If it is 2 then don't bother.

1. Hell yeah! I'm a manly man with curly hair on my chest!

2. Hell no! I'm a freedom loving tricker with flowers in my hair and random tricks in my repertoire.

2. HELL NAW!!! I will go search for a more fitting book. Thank you for your help :juji:

Do you know the Book? I think not. Cause it has some very interesting chapters in it and is written by sportscientists and health professionals. There are chapters about weightlifting, anabolics, plyometric exercises, calisthenics, flexibility, injuries and so on.

Dont talk about things you dont know please:wink:

Do you know me? I think not. Cause I have some very interesting sides to me and I'm written by my father's sperms and mother professional egg cell (singular thankfully). There are chapters about crying, laughing, being a bitch, lifting weights, breaking multiple bones, tearing muscles, being in the army, being a motivated S-O-B wanting to change his life forever and so on.

Don't whine about things you can't handle please :dead:

To sum it up: Goddamn you are boring. I was making a funny remark in my previous post but nooo.

Have you read the book? In that case I want you to describe some of these useful things. I don't doubt that the book is worthwhile and worth paying for but I think YOU should know that just because a book is written by "professionals" and "sportscientists" does not mean it contains factual truths in all cases. This goes for many books on this subject unfortunately.

This book would never be the first thing I would pick if I found it on a shelf and looked at the name. It sounds like it is written by some random hard ass with scientific mumbo-jumbo thrown into the midst to prove various points and show that exercise 24C that enables you to carry your backpack for 10 miles more will not injure you.

Navy Seal, does that sound beneficial for a tricker?

The boy is 13 and i think he didnt get your joke. And you havent read the book but still talk about something you dont know shit about. He has not asked if you would read the book or not and how the title sounds. He asked if its good for someone who wants to learn something about conditioning. And guess what ? It is.
And you are getting personal which doesnt bother me in any way.

I know. I have read many books about conditioning and this one is one of the best. I just wanted to make clear that this book is written by people who know what they are talking about in contrast to books or Videos written by people like Matt Furey, Brooks Kubik, etc.

I am stating a personal opinion.

You are stating a personal opinion.

Did I take your post personally? Nope, I tried to make some humor out of it but you are obviously very stuck up your arse and boring so I'll leave it at that. He can buy whatever book he wants as long as it does him good in the end. If he buys "Stretching, the Tinky-Winky way" or "Massive ultra Powerthirst conditioning" doesn't matter as long as it contains useful stuff that'll spur him on in his tricking career and not be hazardous.

Judging by your post count I wouldn't trust you to judge if I take stuff personally or not, this is the only time a post count has actually been useful. Depending on if you are new or a recurring person like Syvo and mr. Branleur.

Yeah because your post count makes you the ultimate trustfull person who knows everything. You tried to make some humor out of it but you failed. The kid asked for advice and i gave him my advice. You gave him yours in a "funny way". But your advice still sucks.

He has actually read the book.

You have not.

Who do you think has the better informed opinion on the matter?

Fuck man. He said that because of your post count, chances are you haven't been around long enough to judge his personality/character.

Get over yourself. Raph is one of the most helpful people here, and people generally listen when he has something to say.
Not to say that he is always right, but there was nothing wrong with his initial response. His advice didn't suck, you just took it the wrong way.

Seriously, you need to relax. This is TT.

I second that complex. Also, my post count is not that high, but i've been around since ch 2. My registration date has been reset plenty of times. Have you been in the military celine? I have. I wouldn't recommend the book simply because it will more than likely give someone the false security that they are fit enough to go and be a Navy SEAL. Seeing as how the guy asking advice is incredibly young, I would think that he is more vulnerable to believe some B.S. like that.

Im relaxed and i joined TT on the 9th of July 2006. I know that he is a useful person because i have read a lot of posts he made. But in this case he gave an advice full of prejudices that is not correct because he didnt know about the book.
The book is very useful and informative especialy for newbs cause it covers a lot of different fields of knowledge about conditioning and is not written by someone who wants to make quick money.

I gave another advice and as a response i get something like this:

Do you know me? I think not. Cause I have some very interesting sides to me and I'm written by my father's sperms and mother professional egg cell (singular thankfully). There are chapters about crying, laughing, being a bitch, lifting weights, breaking multiple bones, tearing muscles, being in the army, being a motivated S-O-B wanting to change his life forever and so on.

So who needs to relax here ?

Thats the last thing i have to say because i think we are off topic already and i dont want to argue anymore.

@OhDuKwon: There is no propaganda in this book. Only information.
Read it if you dont believe me.

learn to use the goddamn quote button

anyways i would take rahf's advice over this random guys because while rahf may not have read the book, and the other guy may have, i know from rahf's frequent previous posts that he is not a dumbass, he doesnt support bullshit myths about training and nutrition, and he gives helpful advice. so in this case, yes, his post count and the posts they signify are important here because he has already proved himself to be knowledgeable.

i'm not saying that you're wrong about the stupid book or that rahf's right. i'm saying that rahf's more trusthworthy than you are at this point and that you're getting entirely too worked up about a difference of opinion on the internet...

Sorry to anyone if I caused a fight over this. I was just a bit interested in how it had calisthenics, bodyweights, crosstraining and such and ect.I just skimmed through the book and decided to confirm it here if it taught me some things I could apply to my training and knowledge. I didn't get it, but the reason I asked if it was good was to see others's opinion about it beforehand. So sorry for all the trouble. And thanks for the advice. Oh and although I am 13, I research a bit more than the average 13 year old. I've learned a lot from nutrition to flexibility, and conditioning. Pretty much I got all the basics covered I think. I researched a lot so I could improve and be unique. So thanks for any advice.

I was going to suggest earlier that you get the book but not use it as your only resource because you're probably not going to absorb it all at your age, which is a good enough summary for all the whining that has gone on in this thread

IMO, internet > nearly all books. Mainly because multiple opinion can be got in the internet, in large quantities. :)

I see where Rahf was coming from though - there are hundreds of "How to be in the SAS/SEALs after 1 week training" books. Rahf was taking the cautious approach I would take.
And I found him funny.

My oh my.. Alot of discussion going on here.

A few reasons to my previous posts is firstly that no person with self-respect would name a book in that fashion. If I found a book like this about training to join the Swedish arctic rangers I would laugh my ass off because nothing besides living the lifestyle of a military can prepare you for the military life.

I was, for once, trying to make a shot at humor because I had promised Scott to not be such a boring bastard all the time. Apparently it failed on some levels but succeeded in others (yay?)

I am definitely not right all the time as Compleks said and I hope people read my posts with critical eyes, not believing EVERYTHING I say. I'd say the times people would believe is when I provide solid facts (recent studies etc.) I've been proven wrong before and it will most likely happen again.

Yes I exhibit prejudice on a book of which the title suggests it is trying to prepare hopeful youngsters/men/women to clear SEAL tests. In other words I find the title ridiculous.

I was going to suggest earlier that you get the book but not use it as your only resource because you're probably not going to absorb it all at your age, which is a good enough summary for all the whining that has gone on in this thread

Sums it up pretty well. Any literature with sensible and informative writing is good.

Knowledge you don't care about: I have an insane pump in my pecs and triceps.

Oh, I get you now. But nothing wrong in trying to be humorous. I Don't want to live the life of a Navy Seal, I just thought that it had some condition information that I could use to apply to my tricking. Thanks for always being there for me Rahf. You are awesome!:good:

Navy Seals are pretty fit! I remember I read some guy saying the guide is similar to crossfit. Cool.
