Hey I wasn't sure where to post this..

I'm new here and I have quite an interest in martial arts and activities which require utilizing core strength since I'm a computer tech/admin by day which is very sedentary at times.

I haven't been able to keep a rigorous workout schedule or good eating habits..because I've been a douche to myself.. Really I have no excuse but I do go to a University of California, work, maintain a relationship with my fiancee, my family, etc.

Last year I was at around 175 lbs with a 32" waist, but now I'm at 187 with a 37 inch waist (at the naval line) and not liking it at all. I'm not really concerned right now with my weight by itself of course, but I do want to lean out and gain more muscle so my weight will stay the same. (i hope i'm being clear).

Body
------
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 187 lbs
Fat Mass (FM): ~23.5%

Target FM: ~16%
Target weight: 185 lbs

I don't know what a good target date would be..maybe 3 or 4 months? I'm still new to the rigorous schemes such as this so some feedback would be nice if my target time is too short of too long..

I'm going to try and stick to something that Juji has suggested (and read other articles) as far as nutrition. For weights, I guess I'll modify it to something more focused on legs of I want to get to tricking soon. Feedback on the nifty blue-striped chonies are welcomed. xD

here's my 'before' pics.

Its trickstutorials man. The only thing people are gonna laugh at is your deadlift amount(which I haven't got around to trying these yet). Nobody is gonna laugh at your face. If they do, they're probably just trying to make a joke. Hell, I don't have a good looking face but I still post videos.

I was just concerned about privacy. But ok, I see your point.

Glad to be here, thanks.

and also, you're trying to loose fat at the same time gaining 8lbs of lean mass?

i really wouldnt come to tt.com for advice, people will laugh at your blurred out face and say stupid things like 'bulge report' because you were in your underwear, go and research on bodybuilding.com, or send compleks a pm (or even try me if he fails to help, which he wont)

Anonymity is a voluntary thing so I respect your decision. (I'm being nice!)

You have bad posture. (Crash and burn..)

You cannot burn fat and build muscle at the same time, you have to choose one over the other to start with.

Good luck with your training endeavours.

Actually don't research on bodybuilding.com (or t-nation for that matter) because the articles are usually niched, overly specific, utterly unspecific, or a load of shit and the posters on the forums are idiots

Just cut out the bad things from your diet (soda pop, candy, fast food, high amounts of saturated fat, any amount of trans fat, high amounts of sodium, sugar, corn starch, and high fructose corn syrup) and then begin lifting weights so that you create a callus response in your muscles. This means you will have to lift hard enough to be sore after the first day, generally, and almost certainly hard enough to get a pump in your muscles. Sleep 8 hours, stay hydrated, and that's all.

You will not make any gains unless you use any number of Biotest supplements.

Also take whey to get rid of the blurred face. Results should occur almost immediately.

Yes! Don't get any more specific than that for the time being.
