Is it just me or has tricking as a whole progressed recently? it seems as though barriers are getting shattered left and right. double cork hyper by simon. triple cork attempts (check team E morgan's attempts!) and of course the cali/florida/whatever roll. Also popping up are more common 1080s and 1260s.

I seem to remember sessh talking about how some of the big names sort of decide when to "release" certain tricks. . .
It just seems to me as though more ridiculously hard tricks are being at the very least attempted. discuss

Well, if you're the master of everything to do with Tricking (or anything, really) you eventually need to break boundaries to keep challenging yourself or to challenge others. If you're capable of a 700,000,006 degree turn, then you do it.

But that's just me, the n00bsorz talkin' (no frontflip for me yet)

yeah, i feel very behind lately. i have been progressing for what i believe is an exceptable rate, and yet seem to be constantly overshadowed by legends that seem to crawl out of holes! nowadays a roundoff full is noobish, and double corks are being done by people that have been tricking for as long as me! so agravating.

No. Triple corks are still as far off as they were a few months ago, it's just that some people are crazy enough to attempt them. I'm sure some of the Scot's could land a triple on their knees if they were to try them. Also, there seems to be a greater emphasis on pop tricks as of lately, so it's only natural to expect pop 1080's and 1260's to be seen more frequently. The former is becoming a bit more common, but the latter I still rarely see at all. The pop trick barrier lies with 1440's and 1620's really.

You're looking at a few select cases and extrapolating it to tricking at large, and really, it's very unreflective of the current state of tricking. The most progress is being made in comboing, rather than breaking single trick barriers.

scalco should try a triple cork or anis or crazy asain.. next standing double full will be noob and a snapu will be class A trick.. lol humans evolve and when we do we become better and stronger and we alway wanna push ourselves beyond the limits and 1 day we just won't have limits anymore.. i can't wait for that day

Oh cut that philosophical garbage. We're reaching our limits. Triple cork may be landed some time, and if so that's the max rotations we're getting out of that. Same with triple btwist. Maybe we'll hit a 1800 (dang that sounds huge haha), maybe. But dude, mankind isn't evolving anymore and even if we are, what the nigg? It's dang impossible for any of us to evolve to somehow gain greater abilities in our lifetimes. It would take hundreds or thousands of years to get to a point where it would effect our tricking, and with the way human is "defiling the gene pool" now-a-days, fat chance!

Over the past years tricking has progressed a lot. But now we're pushin it. Which isn't bad.

I Agree, but you never really know. There is always someone out there that doesnt agree with the laws of gravity or pysics and breaks them just for the hell of breaking them. If you get what I mean.

I know we are sort of reaching our "limits". but it doesn't hurt to wonder and be a bit optimistic from time to time eh?

I'm very optimistic, I'm just very realistic haha.

Yes, but I think where the progression is really gonna be happening is the sharpening of these "big" tricks and intergrading them into "martial arts" tricks..look at Anis for example (seeing as he is light years ahead of pretty much everyone), he started out doing double corks, twist swings, blah blah...but where he has really started to push his limits lately is bringing all those crazy twists and swing thrus and combining them with real sharp "martial arts" tricks. The combination is deadly!

I cant imagine. What would you have done if someone showed you some videos from nowadays, 5 years ago? Probably would have blown your mind. ( I say you because I wasnt tricking 5 years ago)

Well from reading this, I'll assume that you are either 12 years old, or simply stupid, or both. Even a bionic freak leaping 10 meters high would have its limits, and we're pretty damn far from tweaking the human body to that point. Just because people are attempting triple corks today, doesn't mean that they'll land it easily in the near future.
