In case you haven't already noticed, The flippy n00b is here.
I started trying to do frontflips 2 days ago, learning into a pool. (yes, i know it "won't help," but i haven't got any mats) The same day, i tried from a terraced yard, only to land on my butt (didn't hurt) and get everyone concerned. Progressing quickly, however, i am now submerging knees first after the first flip into said pool.

After the first non-painful spill, my family (extended too, im on vacation) got all concerned and started saying that i'm gonna wind up breaking stuff and getting paralyzed. Then, they proceed to say that i should get Gymnastic training before i continue as to avoid "killing myself."

I know that Tricking is highly dangerous, but it doesn't seem like it (if that makes sense.) Should I get formal training to start with? I'm not even wanting to learn most complicated stuff, just front/backflips, aerials, and maybe a gainer and wallflip.

Is it really worth paying for training or should i learn by myself, save money, and have more of an accomplishment when i actually learn the trick?

By the sounds of it, you COULD go and learn from a gymnastics place. But if you just wan to learn basic tricks then search for all the help on:

Backflips
Fronflips
Gainers
And Wallflips.

Gymnastics is good for backflips and front tucks BUT! Tricks Tutorials is even better for gainers and wallflips, AAAAND anything else you want to learn. :juji:

formal training is nice, but not needed - what you need Khaos is PROPER training. You don't wana grind something only to have done it incorrectly or execute something in a nonproper way - that leads to bad habits and form, and bad habits/form leads to poopy tricking.

If I were you, I'd find a local gymnastics place to go to open gym, find someone who's gota a good grasp on gymnastics for a backtuck/fronttuck etc. and ask for advice. As far as the kick tricks go, you'll need to post up some footage of yourself and we can allllll critique it here =). If you happen to met another decent tricker in your area get them to help you out if you need it.

good luck.
